The key here is that sequentially, you'll think of the subjective term first, like “I want to make this guitar sound defined” or “distant”, etc, and only then does it matter how it all translates to the idea of frequencies and EQ-ing decisions.

Every meaningful skill I've built started with feeling slow, stupid, or out of my league. If it feels 100% smooth, you're probably not building anything worthwhile.

@KevinSzabo14 Lack of motivation isn’t always a sign to push harder, it can be a signal for a need to recharge. Batteries don’t work better by squeezing the last drop out of them. Sometimes you have to allow things in, not just grind for output.

People who complain about a lack of motivation: - Do something hard every day. - Do something that makes you proud. - Set a goal and work towards it. - Hold yourself accountable. - Start making actual progress in life. This is what's going to make you better.
