High hostel prices affect every student, and as student leaders, we must show concern and take active interest in this issue. This is about student welfare, accessibility, and the financial pressure on students and parents.
I encourage every student leader and student on this platform to get involved, contribute, and support this initiative. Together, our collective voice can drive the change students deserve.

It was an absolute honor to share the stage with fellow dignitaries and visionary leaders at the Ghana Youth Agriculture Summit 2026 (Bono Region Edition). Seeing the incredible energy at Sunyani Technical University reinforces that the future of Ghana's economy lies with our youth, a future that NEIP is strategically positioned and fully committed to driving, empowering, and transforming.
To the young entrepreneurs: our soil is fertile, and so are your ideas. Take action today, plant those seeds of growth in agriculture, and let’s drive economic transformation. A big thank you to AgricWealth and the organizers for putting together such an impactful programme.

On behalf of the Honorable Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, I had the honour of participating in the WASH in Schools Policy Dialogue and officially launching the 6th Child Sanitation Diplomat’s One-Year Campaign for Improved Sanitation in Ghana at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Accra.
This important initiative, organised by World Vision Ghana and its partners, seeks to strengthen advocacy and action toward improved water, sanitation, and hygiene conditions in schools across the country while empowering children to become champions of environmental sanitation.
The Ministry's commitment remains clear: every child in Ghana deserves to learn in a safe, healthy, and dignified environment with access to clean drinking water, decent toilet facilities, and proper hygiene services.
I stressed that quality education goes beyond classrooms, textbooks, and qualified teachers. A conducive learning environment must include strong WASH systems that protect the health, dignity, attendance, and academic performance of learners. I also reaffirmed government’s commitment to ensuring that no new school infrastructure project is undertaken without the provision of water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities, while commending World Vision Ghana and all partners for their continued collaboration and investment in education and sanitation development.
Together, we are creating healthier schools, empowering young people to lead change in their communities, and building a stronger future for Ghana.

The Executives of NUGS, together with selected members of the Judicial Committee and Legal Aid Committee, paid a courtesy visit to the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of Ghana to discuss an upcoming initiative titled “Safe Campuses, Informed Students: Combating Sexual Harassment and Digital Abuse.”
The engagement focused on the growing need to educate students on the legal, social, and personal consequences of sexual harassment and digital abuse within educational institutions. Discussions also highlighted the importance of promoting awareness, prevention, and student safety on campuses.
NUGS expresses its sincere appreciation to the CID for the warm reception, valuable insights, and commitment to partnering with us in promoting safer campuses and more informed students across Ghana.

Earlier this weekend, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, ERIC ADJEI ESQ , made a remarkable donation of tricycles to support the youth of Jaman North.
The initiative is aimed at creating stable employment opportunities and empowering young people to become financially independent. Beneficiaries are expected to work with the tricycles and gradually pay for them until they fully become their owners.

On this special Mother’s Day, my heart is filled with joy because I know many mothers in Jaman North have spent years praying for opportunities like this for their children. Presenting these first ten motorbikes is our way of helping to turn those prayers into reality by giving our youth a genuine opportunity to work, earn a living, and create a better future for themselves and their families.
This “work-and-pay” initiative is founded on trust and responsibility. As beneficiaries succeed through dedication and hard work, they also help create opportunities for others to benefit from the same transformative support. I encourage you all to ride responsibly, prioritize safety, and value these motorbikes as the blessings they are, so together we can continue to make our mothers proud and drive the progress of Jaman North.
