9/10 France held 7-year terms for 127 years before reducing to 5 in 2000 The reason for the reduction was specific to the French semi-presidential system. cohabitation between a directly elected president and PM of different parties That problem doesn't exist in CA3's framework

1/10 Mexico has elected its president for a single 6-year term since 1917. Ireland: 7-year presidential terms since 1937. Italy: same. France: 7-year terms for most of the 20th century. CA3 proposes 7 years for Zimbabwe. The comparative record is worth examining. 🧵👇

9/10 CA3 leaves the Declaration of Rights intact. Constitutional supremacy, affirmed by following the amendment procedure. Judicial independence, untouched. Zimbabwe's basic structure is not threatened by CA3. It is expressed through it.
