L’autonomisation économique des femmes passe notamment par l’entrepreneuriat. Pourtant, partout dans l’espace francophone, de nombreuses entrepreneures continuent de faire face à des obstacles qui freinent leur plein potentiel. C’est ce constat qui a inspiré la résolution que j’ai présentée sur l’entrepreneuriat des femmes au service de leur autonomisation dans l’espace francophone. Je suis heureuse d’annoncer que cette résolution a été adoptée par la Commission des affaires économiques, sociales et environnementales dans le cadre de la 51e Session de l’Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF), à Yaoundé🇨🇲 Cette adoption marque une étape importante en faveur d’un environnement plus propice à l’entrepreneuriat féminin et réaffirme notre engagement collectif à faire des femmes des actrices incontournables du développement économique durable de l’espace francophone.

Je salue avec enthousiasme l'annonce de Radio-Canada d'élargir son réseau mondial de correspondants permanents, notamment en Afrique. Une excellente nouvelle qui réaffirme l'importance d'investir dans un journalisme de terrain, capable de rendre compte des réalités du monde avec rigueur, nuance et crédibilité. À l'heure où la désinformation constitue un véritable fléau, l'accès à une information crédible, rigoureuse et fondée sur des sources fiables n'est plus un luxe : c'est une nécessité démocratique. Dans ce contexte, le renforcement de la présence de Radio-Canada à l'international, notamment en Afrique, est particulièrement bienvenu. Une couverture permanente du continent permettra aux Canadiennes et aux Canadiens de mieux comprendre les profondes transformations économiques, politiques, sociales et technologiques qui s'y déroulent ainsi que les immenses possibilités qu'offre ce marché en pleine croissance. --------------- I warmly welcome Radio-Canada's announcement to expand its global network of permanent correspondents, including in Africa. This is excellent news that reaffirms the importance of investing in field journalism capable of reporting on the realities of our world with rigour, nuance, and credibility. At a time when disinformation has become a global scourge, access to credible, rigorous information based on reliable sources is no longer a luxury—it is a democratic necessity. In this context, strengthening Radio-Canada's international presence, particularly in Africa, is especially welcome. L’ouverture de ces deux nouvelles missions diplomatiques, annoncée dans la Stratégie du Canada pour l’Afrique en mars 2025, constitue une étape importante dans le renforcement de la présence et de l’engagement du Canada sur le continent africain. Je me réjouis de voir notre capitale fédérale pressentie pour devenir le point de rencontre du monde francophone. Je salue cette belle initiative du Centre Culturel Afro-Canadien de Montréal, qui contribue à créer des espaces essentiels de célébration, de rencontres et de dialogue, tout en faisant rayonner avec force et élégance notre héritage afrodescendant. …… I had the great pleasure of attending the 3rd edition of the Afrikana Ball in Montreal. It was a wonderful evening celebrating the richness of our cultures and the pride of our identities. I commend the Afro-Canadian Cultural Centre of Montreal (CCAM) for this outstanding initiative, which helps create meaningful spaces for celebration, connection, and dialogue, while proudly showcasing the richness and elegance of our Afro-descendant heritage.

J’ai eu récemment le privilège de rencontrer le Dr Denis Mukwege, cet homme d’exception que le monde connaît notamment à travers le film « L’Homme qui répare les femmes ». Prix Nobel de la Paix 2018, il incarne avec une force admirable le combat pour la dignité humaine, la justice et la protection des femmes, dans un contexte marqué par des violences qui continuent de meurtrir des milliers de vies. Sa voix, son courage et son engagement font de lui une immense fierté pour le Congo, mais aussi pour toute l’Afrique. Une rencontre profondément inspirante avec l’une des grandes consciences morales de notre époque. Mes sincères remerciements à Mme Yvette Ashiri, présidente du CCC-OG, pour cette précieuse invitation. …… I recently had the privilege of meeting Dr. Denis Mukwege, an extraordinary man known around the world, notably through the documentary The Man Who Mends Women. Recipient of the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize, he embodies, with remarkable strength, the fight for human dignity, justice, and the protection of women in the face of violence that continues to devastate thousands of lives. His voice, courage, and unwavering commitment make him a tremendous source of pride for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and for Africa as a whole. Meeting one of the great moral voices of our time was truly inspiring. My sincere thanks to Ms. Yvette Ashiri, President of CCC-OG, for this valued invitation.

L’éducation demeure l’investissement le plus précieux que nous puissions faire pour préparer l’avenir. J’ai eu l’honneur de prendre part à la 7e édition du Gala Méritas Africains, à titre de présidente d’honneur, en présence de Sa Majesté Momo Soffack, Roi des Foto. Ce fut un réel privilège de m’adresser à une jeunesse ambitieuse, résiliente et déterminée à se bâtir un avenir à la hauteur de ses rêves. La remise de 450 bourses et certificats aux jeunes, sous le regard fier de milliers de parents et de familles venus célébrer leurs accomplissements, a été un témoignage fort de l’importance de valoriser le travail, la persévérance et l’excellence. It was a true privilege to address an ambitious, resilient, and determined generation of young people committed to building a future worthy of their dreams. The presentation of 450 scholarships and certificates, celebrated by thousands of proud parents and family members, was a powerful reminder of the importance of recognizing hard work, perseverance, and excellence.
