wanted to say hi to my 164 followers! opened this fresh account ~2 months ago and was pleasantly surprised to see a few friendly faces already! Anyway, thought i'd do a quick intro: I'm Amichai, married to the beautiful @lioridagan both of us left @Microsoft around 2 years ago with the wild idea (some would say stupid, my mom among them) to build a figma competitor It's been a hell of a ride given the past few years here in Israel but (despite what some moms say).... we've actually built a pretty insane product (check it out over at @usebrilliant). I'll be spitballing here throughout the day about our architecture, how agents use brilliant, some insane leaps we've had along the way and new things as they unfold.. hope you enjoy :)

@amihai Oh yea lemme just screenshot an existing layout and copy 1:1 with a different image. Give us something unique man - maybe 3~4 unique layouts with illustrations that actually support the core message of a business.

@amihai Exactly! That's a great way to describe it. I really should sit down and philosophize a bit to figure out why I think that is. It's kind of like how I can recognize ai writing now that I've read so much of it.

I think there's maybe a feeling that the position picker and chat ui feel slightly too busy but that's just a general critique. It could have been done by a person or agent. The reason I'd assume these were generated is because I use a generative workflow for marketing uis like these so it's just my bias. I've noticed when I do it the agent can get like 90% of the way in the first draft if there's a good design system and then I have to refine it to focus on the story I want to tell. Usually agents seem to lean on realism over story in marketing ui. The question is tough in general because I'm not sure exactly what the purpose is. Like I think a more useful question is "What do these designs tell you about the product?" or "What feels off about these designs?" Like I think these designs work because they get me excited about the features.

Who do you think made this, a designer or AI? And what helped you spot either way?

@Riyvir Interesting! Are you able to spot what it is about the design that makes you think so?

@amihai It's interesting because I assume ai and I would have assumed that even without the question but I think that says more about me than the design. Like it all looks good to me.

@prathamdby been doing this via Q&A with the agent post work, but haven't looked at the actual code for a few months now

@amihai I'd agree on not reading line by line, but unless and until you have really strict linting + checks in place, you should at least give it a brief overview to ensure it didn't commit any unwanted stuff and that it followed the codebase standards.

Windows beta now live!

A brand-new rendering engine - The entire canvas now draws on a native GPU engine: Metal on macOS, DirectX 12 on Windows. Rendering moved off the UI thread completely, so massive canvases stay smooth while you pan, zoom, drag, and edit.
