Devastating news from Iran: legendary new wave filmmaker Dariush Mehrjui (of THE COW, among many others) has been stabbed to death in his home, along with his wife. He was one of greatest icons of Iranian cinema. I'm speechless.

قطع برق فقط خاموش شدن چراغ‌ها نیست. شروع فروپاشی زندگی شهری است. وقتی نیروگاه‌ها زده شوند، اولین چیزی که می‌میرد «نور» نیست «سیستم» است. بیمارستان‌ها چند ساعت با ژنراتور دوام می‌آورند، بعد از آن دستگاه‌ها یکی‌یکی خاموش می‌شوند. بیماران ICU، دیالیزی‌ها، همه به برق وابسته‌اند نه به سیاست. آب قطع می‌شود، چون پمپ‌ها بدون برق کار نمی‌کنند. شهری که آب نداشته باشد، در عرض چند روز به بحران بهداشتی می‌رسد. سردخانه‌ها از کار می‌افتند، غذا فاسد می‌شود، فروشگاه‌ها خالی می‌شوند. گرسنگی آرام می‌آید، اما وقتی برسد، دیگر قابل کنترل نیست. اینترنت، بانک، پمپ بنزین، همه به برق وابسته‌اند. با قطع برق، نظم شهری در چند روز فرو می‌ریزد. واقعیت این است: زدن زیرساخت برق، فشار روی حکومت نیست فشار مستقیم روی مردم است حمله به نیروگاه جنایت جنگی است
