Random thought: If given the opportunity, I would definitely try to visit Tuvalu. I’m not sure if it’s ethical to go there. If it is, I would love to go there one of the worlds smallest countries ❤️ I feel like I would learn a lot

If I wouldn’t have left the US, I would have never felt what safety felt like in my body. I would have gone my whole life believing fighting for crumbs and survival is ‘living’. I fear I possibly wouldn’t still be alive if I never left.

I think about the fact that, I know I gave myself a better chance of living just by leaving the United States. I fear for my life in some way everyday in the US. I’m always worried about the many things that are trying to kill me there. That stress within itself is deadly.

I think about how low the life expectancy is for Black trans people, I think about the violence we endure whether that is at the hands of the police or the violent or disposable nature of capitalism & white supremacy, many of us truly fighting to survive.

My life as a Black autistic trans man feels really fragile sometimes. I think about, especially in the US, how I’m perceived, how I act, where I am, who’s around, etc… are all simple things that can impact my livelyhood. My life feels fragile because it is.

CW: Death Today I saw the news that Alex Franco, a trans man was found dead in Utah. This really hit me. Every week I see someone in my community who has been killed or has lost their life. But I want to connect this to something bigger… {thread}

If I was able to find a program or school that truly taugh about the things I care about it & it was full of ableist and racist standards of academia, I would love to just dedicate a year or 2 of my life learning deeply about a topic(s). To be fair I learn a lot traveling also…

I have no interest in going back to school for the original reasons I got my bachelors degrees (ex. Obligation, societal & familial pressure, false promises of more money or “prestige”, etc.)… BUT

I think I just wrote the outline to a potential “thesis” It’s on African American collective or spiritual consciousness & the evolution of R&B/soul music 🥲

Your job was never supposed to determine your value as a person.

If a child tells you they feel like they don’t fit in, stop responding with trite phrases about “individuality/standing out”. It is a cry for community/friendship. Children desire connection and shared human experiences too.

I’m currently not making a living wage, but I do make some money. While it’s not a lot I still allocate $20 a month for mutual aid and try to do more whenever I can. I’m also struggling and under tough times but I also understand intersectionality, even when it comes to money.
