As today is the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation, I wanted to share my poem. It's from my book 'Conflict' (the 1st in the Conflict Poetry series). Please feel free to use it to aid discussion at home & in schools (both for children & staff).

@amjamesauthor worked with our year 4,5 and 6 children and really inspired them to write their own poetry about.... anything! The children loved exploring different types of poetry and really developed our school value of creativity.

Year 4 enjoyed a great workshop today with Angela James for National Storytelling Week. They enjoyed writing riddles inspired by her writing.

Nursery and Reception really enjoyed the start of #NationalStorytellingWeek , with our visiting author Angela James. They loved listening to her stories about animals and then making up their own riddles.

Year 1 kicked off National Storytelling Week with a workshop with author Angela James. We had a fab time listening to and engaging with fun poetry and stories from Angela’s upcoming book series - ‘Guess the Animal’.

Today I had great fun delivering my workshops at @coquetparkfs at Whitley Bay, near Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The children were amazing. They engaged really well & wrote some amazing animal riddles, spooky poems/stories, I Don't Want To riddles & engineering riddles. Well done.

Am really looking forward to school visits this week for National Storytelling Week. Am on the train to Newcastle-upon-Tyne for a school visit in Whitley Bay tomorrow. A 200 mile trek from the other Newcastle (Newcastle-under-Lyme) where I live. Can't wait to see the children.
