Research by Ghosh & Narlikar, 2026 proves that coexistence isn't just "kindness"—it’s a scientific necessity. ❌ Culling invites aggressive newcomers. ✅ ABC + ARV creates safe neighborhoods. Coexistence is practical, not emotional. 🌍🐕 #SavioursOfStrays #DelhiDogs #Coexistence

FACTS: Indian govt data show 75% decline in human rabies deaths and zero cases in Delhi (‘22-‘24). Without SC interference, eradication would have been in reach by 2030. Removal of sterilised and vaccinated dogs will have the opposite effect, experts confirm. #PublicHealth

The data is clear, blunt, and inconvenient for the outrage industry. The Lancet, a peer-reviewed medical journal, reports a 75% decline in rabies deaths in India over 20 years, alongside a two-thirds reduction in dog bite incidence. This is not anecdotal. This is rigorous epidemiological fact. This dramatic success is a testament to systemic public health interventions, not magic or luck: - Extensive anti-rabies vaccination programs for dogs across urban and rural areas. - Improved access to Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) for humans, making treatment available at primary health centers. - Targeted awareness campaigns educating communities on bite prevention and first aid. - Better integration of veterinary and human public health systems. These are hard-won gains, the result of consistent, often unheralded, work by countless professionals. This is the result of selfless volunteering services of millions of dog feeders. It's a victory of science and sustained effort over disease. So, when the Supreme Court deliberates on policies concerning community animals, the foundation *must* be this scientific evidence. To base policy on amplified media narratives or emotional appeals, ignoring a proven track record of decline, is a dereliction of evidence-based governance. It undermines the very systems that achieved this success. We have a working model. The solution is to support it, not dismantle it based on manufactured fear. 🔬

As per The Lancet Infectious Diseases survey, one of the world’s most respected peer-reviewed medical journals, there is a - 75% decline in rabies deaths in India over 20 years and - a two-third reduction in dog bite incidence. This is rigorous epidemiological data. When the Supreme Court deliberates on community animals, policy must rest on scientific evidence, not amplified media narratives. #intersectionality = the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, and gender as they apply to a given individual or group, regarded as creating overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage. instagram.com/reel/DUU_rn5gQ…

Let's be brutally honest: India's 'stray dog problem' is a mirror reflecting our own moral and administrative failures. Not a lack of funds, but a staggering lack of will, intellect, and basic humanity. 💰 The claim that we 'can't afford' to humanely manage strays is an insult to our intelligence and our GDP. - Total cost for sterilising & vaccinating 6 crore dogs: ~₹6000 crore over 3-4 years. - Annual CSR spending in India: ₹34,000–₹35,000 crore. We have *five times* the required annual budget sitting in CSR. If the PM simply directed this, the streets would be clear of strays in 6-12 months. This is not charity; it's smart governance. The current 'debate' is a farce: - Culling is not a cheaper option; it's a moral stain and an ineffective temporary measure. - Feeding dogs in shelters for their lifespan? A financially suicidal proposal, 200x more expensive than sterilisation. It's a policy for perpetuating suffering, not solving a problem. The solutions are laid bare: - Fully fund and enforce ABC Rules. NOW. - Mandate CSR funds specifically for animal welfare infrastructure. - Ban commercial breeding and selling. Force adoption as the only pathway. - Create secure, funded sanctuaries for genuinely aggressive, un-rehabilitatable cases. When a society chooses mass culling over a demonstrably cheaper, more effective, and humane system, it signals a deeper pathology. It's not about animal control; it's about satisfying a visceral, perhaps 'demonic', urge for control and cruelty, masquerading as pragmatism. We aren't too poor for solutions; we're often too barbaric to implement them.

Fear of dogs is often a proxy for deeper cognitive failures, not a rational response to actual risk. The data is clear: dogs are not a primary threat, yet the panic persists. Irrational fear stems from: - Isolated incidents amplified by media - Lack of exposure to well-socialized animals - Misunderstanding canine behavior cues - Observational learning from anxious parents or peers - Vivid, rare negative events overshadowing common positive ones Overcoming it demands: - Education on dog body language and training principles - Controlled, positive interaction with calm, well-trained dogs - Challenging the sensationalist narratives that profit from fear It is the job of parents to teach the kids to engage safely with animals like dogs. A lot your parents failed, it shows.
