@kurtz_conrad Less than ten 1996 episodes left. They haven't all been great, but every now and then you get a good one. It's disappointing when an episode only has one great act or song on it (to my taste), but I've experienced that with episodes from the 70s and 80s too.

Turns out the women work at @LakelandLeather in York. This hasn’t all been one long advert for them. 😂They were super friendly, and went out of their way to be kind and try and help. Lakeland are lucky to have them on their team, and I’m going to check out their jackets. 🙌🏼

A listener hipped me to a fantastic documentary about the Cork band Microdisney: ‘The Story of Microdisney: The Clock Comes Down the Stairs’, lovingly assembled by a first-time director, Julie Perkins and recently aired on the BBC. I’ll let the listener describe it best: “it’s a documentary about a band, but it’s also about the London music scene in the 80’s and specifically about the experience of many young Irish men and women who migrated to London at that time.” He then went on to say that he was in the film ‘in a minor way’ but took great pains to make sure I knew that wasn’t why he was recommending it. He just knew from listening to the pod that I’d like it. The listener? Microdisney’s bass player Jon Fell. Not that he ever mentioned that! How right he was that I’d love this. It will send you to the records. It’s not yet available in the States but hopefully that will be rectified soon.
