The #Giants are finalizing a deal for veteran former #Lions DT DJ Reader, per me and @MikeGarafolo, lending them a large veteran presence.
Reader recently visited the team and they kept talking. With the trade of Dexter Lawrence, some significant defensive help.

The CFL playoff changes and announcement -was/is an absolute failure.
Anyone trying to defend it or rationalize it. Isn’t doing so in good faith (or is clueless).
As far as the change itself:
I love the idea of trying to create revenue, but not at the expense of sacrificing the purity of competition. 8/9 teams making the playoffs is unacceptable in a professional sports league. And although seeding matters, it heavily devalues the regular season. The CFL is a league that struggles with its public perception in certain provinces, this is going to continue those perceptions and perhaps make them even worse now.
As for the announcement of it:
On draft day? You gotta be kidding me. A day that should be celebrated by the football community across the country is instead overshadowed by this announcement. Coupled with the fact that the website crashed, so no one really understood what was happening in the later rounds, created a devastating effect.
The CFL draft, if executed properly, could organically grow and eventually be a huge asset in helping build the leagues brand and changing its perception. Instead the polar opposite occurred.
Final thoughts:
Where is all the outrage from the players/coaches that were so outspoken about the incoming rule changes at? I guess a couple extra guaranteed bucks and they will gladly endorse American ideology.
‘Don’t build the best product, build the one that pays the fastest’ … doesn’t get much more American than that!

8 out of 9 teams in the Canadian Football League playoffs takes away from what makes those games special.
Playoff football is supposed to be earned. If anything, grow the league by adding more teams…. not the number of automatic spots. 🤷🏽♂️

Ask @cfl players how they feel about this new era of playoff football. 8 out of 9 teams making it starting in 2027 instead of 6? I guarantee 100% of them love it. More games, more exposure, more chances to put extra coins in their pockets 💰

Every single team I’ve talked to today said Colton Hood was a plug-and-play guy from Day One. That’s a big time pickup for the #Giants.
Jordan Schultz@Schultz_Report
Pick is in: The #Giants are drafting Tennessee CB Colton Hood, per sources.

Giants have to get a CB or DT but I would understand a WR too
Jordan Raanan@JordanRaanan
The Giants looked into moving back into the end of Round 1. Could be aggressive early here at the beginning of the second round. New York wanted to add a weapon for Jaxson Dart in this draft. Hence the interest in Jeremiyah Love and Jordyn Tyson.

First off, we have to stop overreacting. I would never intentionally take away from the biggest moment/night of Arvell’s life. Very excited to see him play on the team and happy that we have another dawg on the squad!! #gobigblue

Biggest worry is he’s not gonna be a giant at the end of his rookie contract…
