If you found this interesting, then my old supervisor @ditlevbrodersen is looking for a new postdoc to continue this project. If you are interested in enzymology, radical based enzymes and cryo-EM I couldn’t suggest a better place to apply for a postdoc. twitter.com/ditlevbroderse…

With all this we suggest that opening and closing of the enzyme complex is necessary for substrate exchange in this highly regulated radical based enzyme complex.

@DrJamesTorpey I remember reading this paper where they added 0.2 mg/ml ferrous sulfate and 0.4 mg/ml L-cysteine prior to overnight expression in E. coli. Might be of interest. doi.org/10.1038/s41586…
