Transport Minister Anthony Loke’s political secretary has lodged a police report against former Bersatu division leader Badrul Hisham Shaharin over a social media post linked to the ongoing Negeri Sembilan royal dispute, which also triggered a political crisis. Ho Weng Wah claimed that Badrul’s social media post contained defamatory statements against the minister, who is also the DAP secretary-general and Seremban MP. “The post contains allegations that Loke had channelled a large amount of funding to an entity alleged to be illegal, and linked the matter to disruptions involving royal institutions in the state. “The statements and posts made by the individual are also believed to touch on sensitive 3R issues (race, religion, and royalty), which could potentially trigger tensions and divide the community,” Ho was quoted as saying after lodging the report at the Seremban district police headquarters. Framing is ugly, but the picture is factual. Political financing is an issue we will forever grapple with because people look to politicians for financial support, and politicians rely on ground work that isn't free of charge. We should probably just abolish democracy. Lulz.

Kalau selama ni hidup dengan fitnah dan cerita putar, bila enforcement makin ketat memang rasa panas la. Bukan sebab “freedom kena kacau”, tapi sebab susah dah nak tabur benda tak betul. MCMC dan YBM Fahmi Fadzil buat kerja je, nak bersihkan ruang online supaya lebih responsible. Tapi bila ada orang tiba-tiba attack, kita pun boleh fikir sendiri la kenapa. Pasal 3R ni bukan small matter. Kalau betul ada puak yang pernah dapat dana berjuta untuk buat fitnah dan main sentimen, memang bahaya gila untuk negara. Kita sebagai rakyat kena lebih alert, jangan senang sangat percaya, and stop bagi platform kat orang macam ni.

Ratu Fitnah ni koyak dengan @MCMC_RASMI sebab dia dah susah nak tabur fitnah. Sebab itu dia cari jalan nak attack @MCMC_RASMI dan @fahmi_fadzil Tak mustahil kerja² black ops 3R ini ada kaitan dengan puak² yang pernah mengaku terima dana jutaan ringgit untuk buat fitnah

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. Hari ini kita kehilangan satu nama besar dalam dunia perfileman Melayu, Dato' Sri Maria Menado atau Maria Abdullah, seorang seniwati yang pernah mewarnai layar perak sekitar era 1950-an hingga awal 1960-an. Lakonannya yang cukup ikonik, terutama dalam filem Pontianak pada tahun 1957, bukan sahaja mencipta fenomena, malah membuka jalan kepada genre seram tempatan yang kita kenal hari ini. Perginya beliau bukan sekadar kehilangan seorang pelakon, tetapi juga sebahagian daripada sejarah dan kenangan industri seni kita. Ramai yang membesar dengan lakonan Allahyarhamah, dan aura yang dibawanya masih terasa hingga kini. Bagi pihak Kementerian Komunikasi, takziah buat seluruh keluarga dan mereka yang pernah mengenali serta bekerjasama dengan Allahyarhamah. Semoga segala jasa dan sumbangannya menjadi amal yang berpanjangan. Sama-sama kita doakan agar rohnya dicucuri rahmat dan ditempatkan dalam kalangan orang yang beriman. Al-Fatihah.

One thing I have been noticing is how people consume news and information today, and how this also affects the way the opposition operates. Right now, we are not seeing a strong and responsible opposition that focuses on clear policies or solutions. Instead, much of the attention is on political manoeuvres, playing on sensitive issues, or attacking the government. When this kind of content is pushed, it spreads very quickly because it creates anger and reaction. Everything moves very fast now. What spreads the most is not always what is accurate, but what makes people emotional. Important updates and real efforts by the government can easily be missed because they are not dramatic enough. There are also too many news portals competing for attention. Because of this, headlines are written to attract clicks. Sometimes the headline itself can be misleading or incomplete, and people react based on that without reading further. Another issue is how easily information gets repeated. Many people share what they see on WhatsApp groups or social media without checking if it is true. Some posts even make serious accusations without any proper proof. After a while, when the same thing is seen again and again, it starts to feel like the truth. We have more information than ever before, but not everything is reliable. The real challenge now is learning how to tell what is true, what is only partly true, and what is just noise.
