@Tarkalani10 I remember my lecturer at uni once said you can build embankments, river walls, and spend a lot of money constantly maintaining buildings, but people don't think to just build a few hundred meters away from the river. Historically people did, ironically

@NotoriousMoose He obviously did it in the wrong manner, but probably had some classmates or people in the neighborhood talking about how pretty she is (or most probably that sentiment in a more vulgar way) so he was keen on her to do purdah.

@UrHanafi_mutual @Guggenhe1m I lost my trail of thinking, I was going to say this question can easily illicit a kufri response by not those well versed in the topic

@UrHanafi_mutual @Guggenhe1m you have to assume. Many (or even most) folk arent aware of the discussion about the Quran being uncreated. For the best part of my life I parroted the Quran is the uncreated word of Allah not really knowing what that meant. But just that it was the right thing to say and profess

@slicingpaper @Guggenhe1m Imam ahmad who technically is not from first three generations picked the latter stance and his story is well known. And almost all later scholars followed. But those who claim to restrict their aqeedah to the sahabah and not go beyond should stick to the first

@slicingpaper @Guggenhe1m With respect the some salaf did, and this is noted. When the discussion came, one group said this was not discussed by the sahabah and we have no need to enter this discussion. Another that eventually dominated said no we need to answer the shubha with ilm.

@Sparkyiest @salafiyyah25_ It isnt as simple as that when some sahabah didnt bring their wives to eid. Hence most schools ended up discouraging (young) women from eid

@salafiyyah25_ Ameen. Some people have a problem for no reason. When the prophet ﷺ granted permisibility why do fools tend to have a problem with it 😭😭. As long as she attends modestly theres no problem.

@slicingpaper @Guggenhe1m Anecdotally most laymen dont know the Quran is uncreated, and many exposed to the term say we dont really understand. Someone asked on here I dont understand but can I just say the Quran is the kalamullah and leave it be

Hanafis consider it makruh tahrimi because we are not living in the ideal times of Rasūlullah ﷺ, and that if concessions are given to women, they will not uphold the conditions and will not leave any chance to cause fitnah. We base our opinion on practice of sahaba.

@memeyabhai @_Muhammad_09 Yes true and in jama masjid women go and have picnics without their hair uncovered. And in badshahi mosque couples in wedding clothes have snaps A handful of mosques in major city doesn't define country. But yes east africa, oman, algeria etc don't have women attending eid.

sorry, I find it obligatory to call out when someone is literally criticizing a command of the Prophet SAW while Indian subcontinent is where women love eating Biryani at graves, and not taken to Eid prayer when the Prophet of Allah commanded it.. Make it make sense

@memeyabhai @_Muhammad_09 Not questioning intention, but stating what occurs, perfume, makeup and fineries. Here is Algeria, but in general women dont pray in maldives, kenya, turkey etc (generally places where traditional opinions are followed)

@amuseingtime @_Muhammad_09 Questioning the intentions of women wanting to pray Eid salah and calling it a fashion show is not okay at all.. What other countries than the subcontinent?

@memeyabhai @_Muhammad_09 Imam Tahawi considered the hadith abrogated and gives an explanation (limiting women is common in many countries not just subcontinent). Even lets say the opinion isnt taken, ive not seen somewhere carried out where it doesnt become a fashion show and conditions are met
