A “Showcase Tournament” with 25 minute halves should be outlawed… they are a money grab by the host club, they are not a showcase.

@Don_K_Williams Totally agree as a ⚽️ parent, coach &former player. This craziness dilutes the talent in each league (even you ECNL) and makes it harder on parents & kids. So many confused parents too. It also keeps good players out because of the cost. It prevents kids from playing other sports

Younger coaches & parents won’t believe me! But before someone had the genius idea to form a private for profit league & become a mega millionaire off the backs of 🇺🇸 ⚽️ families & formed a new Super Ultra Mega EliteChampions League for our youth, we had a system that worked & served players of all abilities! All over the 🇺🇸, we had Recreational ⚽️, Advanced ⚽️ & Advanced Travel ⚽️ (travel meant a few hours from home max, 2 overnights max, no out of state travel unless you earned it by winning state & going to regionals) as well as TOPS soccer all fell under one banner We were truly a ⚽️ community often with local senior teams to look up & aspire to! #CollegeSoccer coaches went to state & regional matches as well as a true national championship (The McGuire Cup) and it meant something Coaches recruited High School ⚽️ We had true ⚽️ communities and it worked The ⚽️ community was generally quite happy with the system Now we have this mess Gordon Gekko was wrong Greed is not good!! It ultimately destroys what it touches And some people think our system is better now because our players are better now (which they are) But is faulty logic based on incorrect causal reasoning Players are better because there are millions more of them & we finally have parents & grandparents (like me) who grew up with ⚽️ Understand ⚽️ Many coach ⚽️ In my day parents didn’t even know what a ⚽️ was for or how it worked It was “that foreigners game” We NEVER saw ⚽️ represented in commercials, movies advertising etc Now you cannot escape a single day without coming across some ⚽️ image at least That’s why we’ve gotten better It’s 💯 NOT the privatized for profit leagues I’ll argue we would be miles ahead of where we are if they had never come to fruition Rant over

@NewYorkStateAG Keep it up! Sue to stop these executive orders! Hold them accountable. Keep the checks and balances in place. America doesn’t need a dictator or oligarchy!

This morning, we won a court order blocking Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, from accessing Americans’ private data. Musk and his DOGE employees must destroy all records they've obtained. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: no one is above the law.
NY AG James@NewYorkStateAG

We're suing over the free rein Donald Trump gave Elon Musk and DOGE to access Americans’ private information. Musk and DOGE want to use this information to cut vital services that Americans rely on — from health care to education. This is unacceptable and illegal.

@holykamikaze28 @Schneltor @FlinkoJohn @NewYorkStateAG Sorry that isn’t how that works. He has a made up “Department” & wasn’t vetted and approved by Congress. Also not all clearances include sensitive info. Plus he hired random young ppl with the same access. You want “Joe Schmo” with your sensitive data. He could sell to dark web.

@belladimuccio10 @ImCollegeSoccer @NCAA Just curious how many males assigned at birth you have competed against in ECNL competitions? How many did you expect in college? A minuscule amount, if any, would have competed. A waste of time to hurt a few people. Also you may want to know that coaches look at your posts.

@slembke19 @gretchemaben @GillianS007 I was charged less than $10k for a chopper ride off a ski mtn after a snowboarding accident. This was in the USA. It was a 30 mile ride to the hospital.

@cwhall75 @Tyler17656 Hard to do when people have final exams in less than 2 weeks. Let’s not forget that most ⚽️ players are students first. They need the grades. Many have tests (mine has big accel geo/alg 2) tomorrow or finals reviews. Can’t afford to miss more time if not required for team.

@Tyler17656 It does look like it filled in a good deal for the second game. Hope they can convince all those youth teams that are playing the tournament this weekend to stay an extra day for the final.

@DGlaucomflecken Poor taste for him to imply you had any responsibility here. Keep doing your videos. All of medicine has been made fun of and we all understand the satire.

I don’t get offended easily, but implying that my content is responsible for somebody’s murder is pretty offensive…and tasteless. Vinay usually crusades against baseless claims with no evidence. I guess this one doesn’t count.
Vinay Prasad MD MPH@VPrasadMDMPH

I see people are retweeting this in the wake of the assassination. That's in poor taste. Glaucomflecken is not actually a student of health policy. He doesn't understand insurance. Denying coverage does not increase their profits. That idea may have gotten someone murdered. Sad

DM: We finished our ECNL Conference meeting this morning. It’s been approved and it will definitely be changing back to what it used to be. It’s already been decided. -ECNL Director #CSTruth It will hurt/help some teams. It will hurt/help some players. Some players will move up to the A team and some will be dropped to the B team.
College Soccer Truth ™@ImCollegeSoccer

DM: “The vote on November 22nd, (graduation year vs birth year), is just a formality. It’s already been discussed and decided. It will change back to graduation year in club soccer. We are buying time to allow club organizations an opportunity to organize their player pool process for the 2025-26 season.” -US Club Soccer Representative #CSTruth

@PrimeMcog @cwhall75 My elder child was a stud at pressing, stealing the ball frequently as well as running back on D. She timed her decision to press vs block passing lanes with judgement that would make Pep proud! I am in awe of her knowledge of the game and I am a coach myself!

@cwhall75 We revere stats like # of goals, assists, corners earned, etc., but the #1 stat for me is the number of defensive tackles by a forward. Aggressive forwards that hustle back and "back check," as we say in hockey, are priceless. You won't lose many games with such forwards.

Please teach youth forwards the value of defending and how to do it. Very very very few of them will be big-time goal-scorers in college. If you don’t teach them to defend at youth level, you are setting them up to fail badly in college. #youthsoccer #collegesoccer

@EtheV77 @ImCollegeSoccer No one gets a year back or loses a year. Your 09 girl is a 2028 grad yr from what u just said playing U17. U think she should b playing U16 based on these new rules. I have a 2010 daughter playing U15 also 2028 grad. She would have played U15 under old rules too.

Birth Year vs School Year 🚨 What we’ve been told recently: ECNL seems to be the one pushing this the hardest. As of now they are voting to go back to School Year but ECNL cannot stand alone with this rule change. They need U.S 🇺🇸 Soccer Approval and the other club leagues to be behind it too. A survey has been sent out and meetings are being held and for what we have gathered, a lot of Club Directors don’t believe it will be approved as there is no real desire from U.S 🇺🇸 Club soccer to change it again. #CSTruth

@ImYouthSoccer Dumb decision to change it again. Change only means more messed up teams and lost players. BUT if you have to change it then needs to be grad year and allow bio banding

🚨We expect the decision to move BACK to the School Year (Aug 1) vs the current Calendar year to be announced in the next month. The #ECNL supports it but wants a majority of youth leagues to support it as well. We would be pretty surprised if this change is not in place in 2025

I have never owned a cat... Not once in my life. A few days ago, this little guy wandered up to me at a secluded lake, miles from any house, obviously abandoned. I couldn't leave him. I guess sometimes they do choose you. His name is Huck Finn, and I will end bloodlines for him.

@Allison_Dupont Women need to support and help other women and to encourage them to find resources and help like nannies/good childcare, social networking in and out of your field, stand up to the hospital systems and good old boys network, etc. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Allison.

Ok, interventional cardiology. We can do much better than this! 👩🏽‍⚕️👩🏻‍⚕️👩🏿‍⚕️Please reach out to myself and other women in the field if you’re feeling discouraged or alone. If you love what you do, you should be able to find happiness in your career. ❤️

@thecardsharp2 @LauraMiers It was the sister of the athlete, not the athlete. Athletes get blood clots too btw. Even b4 Covid. Ended the careers of some. Not denying she had Covid or DVT, but also have not read anything saying she did either. Tragic either way.

Folks are literally dying at the Olympics, & media is normalizing it. She was 26-years-old. “Steffens' sister-in-law died in Paris while visiting to watch her compete in the Olympic Games. Lulu, who was the younger sister of Steffens' husband Bobby Conner, died at 26 following a medical emergency.” people.com/maggie-steffen…

@EHahnMD @Swilua It isn’t like it used to be anyway. The residents r much more supervised & get lots more simulation training. They are not made to feel bad if they call for help like we were 20+ yrs ago & they can 👀 ⬆️ answers easier on computers. Yet they still r very nervous/caring.
