@holly1997yollh Not ortho, but as someone who’s now two years out from going unmatched, it does get better and you will find your place in medicine. Stick with those who also got bad news yesterday and whatever you wind up doing this year go in open minded and give it your all

an an OBGYN applicant who is preparing for interviews right now, i just want to express how profoundly difficult it is to stay focused and centered right now. extending grace to all my fellow applicants who want to continue protecting women with increasingly limited tools.

@asmelillomd @l_deliberto Doc: When states start to ban ORIFs, then you’ll understand our frustration. A “6 week” abortion ban is only 4 weeks post-fertilization. There’s nothing flexible about that. Happy to share examples of women who’ve lost their lives or fertility, while we all lose our autonomy

@l_deliberto Doc: I understand ur frustration . I sit on the opposite side of your opinion & likely on ur choice of POTUS. Abortion has been divisive 4 almost 50 years. Things will likely change to more flexible policy as it pertains 2 women’s healthcare but not likely “birth control”

woke up early to workout before my shift but instead i laid there feeling paralyzed. between amendment 4 not being passed in florida (despite popular vote) and the projected presidential outcomes, i feel so sick. to dedicate my life to serving women to then see America turn its back on them is emotionally shattering. the next few days are certainly for grieving, but then it’s right back to fighting for the people who will lose their voice for the next 4 years.

Ablation does not treat endometriosis, it treats abnormal bleeding from intrauterine conditions. Endometriosis is outside the uterus, and if your surgeon sees it during the salpingectomy they can burn it away :)

Answered the phone “Hi, this is Amy with surgery” for the very last time today. This time last year, I never could’ve imagined how bittersweet it feels. But next time I’m returning a page, I’ll be “Amy with GYN” and that is a dream come true.
