What do you think makes a #Science #textbook engaging for children of 6 to 10 yrs? How should the content be presented in a school textbook?
I am working on designing science textbook for primary years.

@beckycarlzon @AdrianBethune @RaeSnape @sewlosam @mareewhiteley @Diksha0605 An image comes to mind for me more than words. Something like this:

@beckycarlzon @mareewhiteley @KimcooperHL @Birgcar @KayOddone Yes! Love our self-care target for the fortnight too: What are going to say ‘no’ to?

@Diksha0605 @beckycarlzon Super point, @Diksha0605. Feeling liberated and empowered is a reciprocal thing. I’m so glad to hear about your positive experiences of late!

@beckycarlzon @amykirk1234 My current job is pushing me to think more, learn more. I am feeling challenged in a positive way.
I think being in a high challenge and high support requires both the leader and team members to create a safe cushioning where communication is easier and taking risks is simpler.

@Rethinking_Ed Sounds amazing. Will events be recorded for ticket holders in uncooperative timezones?

Relationships are a two-way street.
Dr Jaz Ampaw-Farr@jazampawfarr
Want to improve behaviour? Grab your Behaviour Policy, rip up the fist page and replace with a new cover that says ‘Relationship Policy’. Better still magpie this Behavior Chart for adults from @wct_team. I changed when teachers showed me behaviour was a two way process.

@beckycarlzon @AlexMaeseJ Always so proud to get to learn from and with you!
(Also I’m definitely think, think, do - then probably think about what I did for a while 😊)

When you aren’t accustomed to failure early on, it becomes unbearably threatening when it finally does happen (and it will always happen). Such an important component of providing for especially capable learners

Schools rarely teach history well, if they teach it at all. And we can't make sense of the present unless we understand the past.
What teachers need is a simple but powerful framework--like the @4qmTeaching method.

@beckycarlzon You can’t do that, I’d get Learning Pioneer FOMO! Although we could have an advocate meeting with @amykirk1234, @Birgcar and Rupert the dog?

Why do we feel compelled to push ourselves to 100% capacity 100% of the time? Something I am certainly guilty of…

I wrote this blogpost about a year ago but in such uncertain times, I think this is more important than ever. What do you think is at the heart of impactful learning like the #learningpowerapproach?

@beckycarlzon @Markfinnis @GuyClaxton @mareewhiteley @Birgcar @trev_mackenzie @JamesNottinghm @MichaelPalagi @Diksha0605 @LouNerd3 If we think about a student’s time at schooling being chiefly about preparing for ‘life’s coming attractions’, I think that makes this quote even more poignant.
