Congratulations to @drmehj, Professor of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging & of Neurosurgery @YaleMed, on receiving the Gold Medal Professor Award from @The_ASSR, its highest honor, given to members for exceptional service, education & research in spine radiology.

Today is Amy Johnston’s last day after an impressive 37 years at Liberty Hospital. When I first met her, “The Amys” instantly clicked. I truly feel it was divine intervention. We never could’ve achieved what we have when it comes to cancer care at Liberty and a multitude of other initiatives without her unwavering dedication, advocacy, and unrelenting hard work. It’s hard to put into words the complexities these last 8 years have brought us. Simply, it was tough at times, both professionally and personally. However, through it all, we were there for each other, even when I was getting married and my aunt couldn’t travel to the U.S. because of the COVID travel ban—but Amy stepped right in to fill her role, no questions asked. She is also fiercely loyal, compassionate, trustworthy, humble, and tough as nails. Consequently, she instilled that tough as nails mentality in me. She held me accountable, always called me out when I needed it, and was always there to pick me up during tough times. I have grown so much as a leader and person because of her, and I know I would not be the same person today if I didn’t have her steadfast presence, mentorship, and simply, unconditional love so early in my career. I hope that all physicians have the privilege of having an Amy as their practice manager at some point in their careers, because you will succeed beyond your wildest dreams with a person like her by your side. Although I won’t be working clinically with her anymore, she will always be family (she can’t get rid of me 😊). I couldn’t be happier for her and this new chapter.
