The UNRWA bills passed by Israel’s Knesset are gravely concerning. This risks jeopardising the international humanitarian response in Gaza. We need to see an immediate ceasefire and the release of hostages. Israel must ensure sufficient aid reaches civilians in Gaza.

Dozens of blindfolded Palestinian men seen being taken away in Israeli military trucks, in video shared by Israel’s national broadcaster. Kann News said the men were from Jabalia in north Gaza, which has been under siege for more than a fortnight.

Today @AngelaRayner and I met members of the Palestinian community in the UK who have lost loved ones in Gaza, alongside Dr Husam Zomlot, Head of the Palestinian mission to the UK. I am humbled by their immeasurable grief. This horrific suffering must end, there must be an immediate ceasefire, and Israel must let unrestricted aid into Gaza now.
