Hit-Boy & ASAP Rocky rapping along to ‘****** In Paris’ last night at the Jay-Z show Hit-Boy produced the song and it’s especially meaningful bc Hov helped him get out of a 18-year deal recently 🤯 “We ain't even posed to be here”

Aight I honestly expected tha Future album to sound as mediocre as it did. I didn’t like Radio single & those sound bite interview were corny as hell I wanted him to surpass my expectations but eh, not mad at this

Vince Staples self titled is by far his worst album and I find it very unfortunate that I don’t enjoy it

@gothamhiphop I hate tha lowkey beats and his low energy delivery on here. It all sounds so boring it’s like he’s having a monologue with instrumentals in tha background.

That’s not me saying either of Lupe, Black Thought or other lyricists have better discographies or are better songwriters than DOOM in general though

I don’t exactly understand why he’s placed into conversations with Lupe Fiasco and Black Thought specifically when it comes to lyricism. He’s still one of my favs ever but like have yall seen his 2010’s run versus them? Respectfully, they clear him off longevity alone.

Navy Blue really amazing. Sol Chyld and Samara Cyn are two rappers I been fuckin with a good bit these days

I remembered that Cordae existed today and I’m still unsure why hip hop media pushed and cherished that rapper so much. Especially looking at his total catalog 7 years later it’s easy to see he was incredibly lukewarm.

I’m a fan of this new Maxo Kream album. There are a handful of things that stuck out to me about it: ▫️The artwork was done by Chito, an artist & designer who bridges graffiti culture with designer brands. He’s worked with Supreme, Givenchy, and Arc’teryx ▫️The album is produced entirely by JPEGMAFIA. The duo first met on a $boys$ tour in 2022 and they grew close, with Maxo Kream appreciating JPEGMAFIA’s experimental production ▫️‘This Sht Going On’ samples ‘Home (KOD)’ by Playboi Carti ▫️The O.Y.N. title (which as you can probably guess stands for Old YN) plays into Maxo’s belief that age doesn’t matter in hip hop. He’s cited Benny the Butcher, Westside Gunn, and Freddie Gibbs as examples that some of the best rappers in the game are in their 40s. As Maxo himself gets older, he’s showing his mindset that he won’t decline despite his age. ▫️The album touches a number of heavy subjects despite it being a mostly fun 24 min listen. The themes of substance abuse, PTSD, and mental health appear across the tracklist. Here’s to Maxo Kream continuing his streak of being one of the most consistent rappers in the game 🫡
