@Eyesandvibes Love CP but he’s not going to control the ball and dictate the game. He’s best receiving the ball in space and then attacking. Every time I’ve seen him go to a 10 role for the us he disappears… We don’t have a real 10 (nope, not Reyna)

I don’t want to open this door after there were so many negatives, but Pulisic wasn’t anywhere close to where we need him to be in terms of controlling the ball and dictating the game

That first half lineup was great and now we have all these MLS guys getting absolutely exposed. Not even close to good enough. Score is deserved.

great question from @HenryBushnell: why don't you explain to the players why they are/aren't called up? Poch (in so many words): They already know. If they don't know, they need to think a little harder about it.

With October being an important month in MLS, the USMNT roster should be heavily European based. I wanna see who can compliment Tyler Adams in what now should be 2 man midfield. This is my order 1) Cardoso 2) Aidan Morris 3) McKennie 4) Tessmann. Hopefully Johnny nails it. If not Morris/Adams bash brothers sounds good to me. Weston has to show me he really wants it. Long shot for TT.

Tanner Tessmann in elite company but Poch would rather call up Sebastian Berhalter and Luca de la Torre

@scuffedpod Could easily see Antone Robinson switching for arfsten. On the right, I like freeman but he and dest are different players. Could also see McKennie switching for Roldan Zendejas is playing like he wants to start but could see Tillman switching in for him.

@TaylorTwellman US Soccer Inc is sooooooo disconnected from sooooo much if the genuine American soccer culture…. For example, the story in this video is going on every week all year long all over the country but we only have maybe Pepi and Luba on the usmnt? instagram.com/reel/DML5PiGCE…

After reviewing some of the younger age groups, it’s clear the overall floor for talent development in U.S. Soccer has been raised, starting with the 2008 class. From this point forward, we can reasonably expect a certain baseline level of quality in every class, with natural fluctuations up and down. Our talent pool will be deeper, with more viable USMNT prospects than ever before. It’s also evident that the dual-national pipeline through international academies will remain strong, with American influences too widespread for it to dry up. However, we still don’t produce enough true blue-chip prospects to be considered a global power anytime soon—and I’m not convinced the current infrastructure is capable of changing that. I see this as primarily a cultural challenge that may take many decades to solve. That said, the U.S. should be able to consistently rank among the top 10–15 talent-producing nations moving forward.

The thing with Gio is, all evidence kinda points to him being cooked physically. Slowest field player for BVB in the CWC. Can he still help the national team? Yes. But I don’t have too much hope in his club career until he shows that he can run

@ConcacafEdgar No, this isn't it. Totally unfair to CS. Mora is talented. No shade against him, but he's not ready for this level. In the end, had no tangible impact on goals. Sullivan could've struck the ball cleanly a few times and looked busy. Neither is ready for the senior level yet.

What's also impressive about all of this is how many good players grew up in the same area and were concentrated in a Metro area that clearly isn't small or lacking athletic talent, but Philadelphia isn't Paris or London, yet Southeastern Pennsylvania and NJ have basically become the hotbed of soccer in the United States. They put LA, metro NY (which includes some of NJ, to be fair), Miami, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, etc to shame right now. Philly Union and RBNY are not just the two best academies in MLS because they have insane recruiting. I don't even know if RBNY has insane recruiting (Philly probably so). The local areas produce a ton of quality players. They are doing a better job of that, and other clubs and metro areas need to try to replicate what is happening in that small region of the country.
José Roberto Nuñez@JoserNunez91

The Aaronson brothers were available to the press earlier today, and they spoke about the Union connections on the U.S. roster and how welcome the familiarity is: "I think when I first came to the first team it was when Brenden and Mark (McKenzie) were on their way out and I kind of also joined the first team with Quinn (Sullivan), Jack (McGlynn) and Nate (Harriel.) We were kind of the next cycle up as Brenden and Mark started to leave. So at that point it was like all eight of us including Freese (Matt) training together at one point and then when you look now Seeing everybody in the national team situation, it's really cool to see when you walk in just a bunch of familiar faces, guys I've played with at such a young age. Like Quinn, I used to play against him when I was probably seven or eight. I went on a trip to Portugal with Jack when I was also eight or nine. So a lot of familiar faces also makes it easy to kind of settle down and feel at home." This roster features seven immediate academy connections: Brenden and Paxten Aaronson, Quinn Sullivan, Jack McGlynn, Nate Harriel, Mark McKenzie, and Matt Freese. Eight, if you count the short amount of time Brian White spent with Jim Curtin, winning the Generation Adidas Cup. Incredible work by Philadelphia. #doop #USMNT #USYMNT #GoldCup #CONCACAF 📹: U.S. Soccer/Veritone cc:@ProspectsUsmnt / @usmntaut

@therealshenger Thoughts on whether or not Berman, with insight in hand from Wilken's comments about the settlement, just wants to go to trial? Seems like his brief is either that or he's 100% that Wilken will blink re: her direction for the settlement to include assured grandfathering...

In her April 23 Order denying the House settlement, Judge Wilken cited the Supreme Court’s Walmart v. Dukes decision, which similarly involved back damages and injunctive relief under Rule 23(b)(2). The Buchalter objectors rely heavily on Dukes in their recent brief. Approval may turn on what Wilken thinks SCOTUS meant by the following language from Dukes.
