If anyone doubts the fate of those about to be arrested, I represented clients during the 2011 London riots. The CJS was brutal. Bail refused prior to court. People remanded in custody however minor their involvement pending trial at the Crown Court for heavier sentencing. 1/

This is the most wonderful, lovely book I have read in a very long time. Nevil Shute is a wonderful writer.

@DeborahMeaden The right to protest does not include stopping anyone rights, stopping people from going to work, going shopping or going where ever they were planning to go, stopping half the population carries consequences, between 4 and 5 years it seems.

I find it very alarming that so many agree with the protest sentance. It doesn't matter whether you agree with JSO it matters that you have the right to protest....this is a legal overreach and we should all be worried.

The change brought by this election is far more dramatic than realised. Only 3/30 members of Boris Johnson’s 2022 cabinet remain in Commons 2 years later - 90 per cent of his leadership are gone. This is a radically different commons. Let’s hope the new MPs improve things…. before they are co-opted by the leadership and whips
