Don’t skip system design and CS basics; prototypes are easy, production systems are where engineering actually begins.

Microservices, queues, load balancing, state management, rate limiting, consistency, and fault tolerance. AI doesn’t replace fundamentals, it makes them more important.

The more I build applied AI systems, the more I realize that the real challenge isn’t the agentic loop with tool calls, retrieval, and integrations—it’s making the system run reliably at scale under real production load. Your AI stack still needs solid system design. #AppliedAI

Cursor's harness blog is worth your time. Key insight: base + dynamic per-model harness. Eval new models early, adapt to their specific quirks. Same model, different harness, very different output. Best AI products are win at harness, not the model layer.
