@wewatchdog @RulerofNV Then the Arabs rejected it and started a war with Israel, which they (Arabs) lost. And Israel ( who were fighting on the defense) gained more of that lands (about 70% total) as spoils of war.

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV No, The 1947 UN Partition Plan gave Jews 56% of the total land area (mostly the Negev Desert, 60% of their share, which was largely arid and undeveloped at the time), while Arabs got 43%. Arabs were allocated most of the prime agricultural/highlands land. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Na…

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV I’m not, the Jews are. And they can stick to that promise because they are still covered by the Old Testament covenants. Doesn’t matter if we (as Christians) are in support of it or now, it just the honest truth.

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV Yes, Jesus is the Seed, and faith in Him makes us all Abraham’s heirs for the blessing to the nations. Paul didn’t erase the land promises to ethnic Israel though. Romans 11 shows a remnant preserved and God’s calling to them irrevocable. Expansion through Christ, not abolition.

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV That's the thing. They did legally purchase what they were allowed but faced heavy restrictions from both Ottomans and British on how much land they could buy. That's why they pursued diplomacy and the UN partition plan. The Arabs rejected it and attacked. And then lost the war.

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV I kind of like this convo. And I want to be sure of your exact stance, so as not to misquote or misrepresent your position.

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV Then, we can put the blame on the powerful nations that manipulated everyone with conflicting promises, and not on the Jewish people trying to legally return to and rebuild their ancestral homeland after 2,000 years of exile and persecution. Right?

Ahhh... Powerful nations often use war as a pretext for self-serving motives. In WWI, Britain promised Sharif Hussein an independent Arab state in exchange for fighting the Ottomans, while simultaneously pledging a Jewish national home in Palestine to encourage the U.S. to join the war effort. This was the beginning of "endless conflicts."

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV Yes the scripture said that. But I want to understand your point. Are you saying Isreal shouldn’t make claim to that land because Jesus promised us a place in heaven? Keep in mind that this Is a question, to try and figure out your opinion on this.

@anchovy0123 @RulerofNV Did the Scripture not identify Jesus as the "descendant," "the seed" through whom all blessings come? So it is through faith in Christ that the covenant with Abraham is fulfilled making all who believe, heirs to the promise. And, not reverting to some piece of land. Gal 3:16, 29

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV Israel of OLD; They are the ethnic/national Israel under the OLD covenant. The descendants or Jacob (Israel). Israel in the NEW; are the multinational people of God consisting of all who are in Christ by faith. Meaning Jews and Gentiles together forming the church.

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV The OT itself shows God judging Israel many times, yet ALWAYS preserving a remnant and promising restoration. Jesus fulfilled the old sacrificial system (He is the true Temple and Pascal Lamb), but that doesn’t erase God’s faithfulness to Israel. Paul confirms this in Romans 11.

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV Yes, the Old Testament is fully part of our Christian Scripture. My point is simple; Jesus said He came not to abolish the Law or the Prophets, but to fulfill them (Matt 5:17). And The fig tree symbolized judgment on the fruitless religious leaders of that generation

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV By 'illegally occupy' i think you mean the areas gained in the 1948 defensive war beyond the UN Partition Plan, or the West Bank/Gaza captured in 1967 from Jordan. But the 1949 lines were armistice lines, not borders, and no Palestinian state ever existed there. You can check it.

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV It's not uncommon theology. The fig tree is often seen as a symbol of Israel's fruitlessness (leaves but no fruit) in that generation, similar to the Temple cleansing (Mark 11). But it was judgment on hypocrisy, not a curse canceling God's covenants with the Jewish people.

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV Evangelicals who support a future Third Temple usually do so because they read prophecy (Daniel, Ezekiel) as requiring a literal temple in end times. They see it as part of God's faithfulness to Israel (Romans 11), not a rejection of Jesus as the final sacrifice.

@wewatchdog @RulerofNV You have to understand that Jews don’t accept Jesus as the Messiah. They follow the Torah and still awaits ‘the messiah’. Christians believe Jesus is the pascal Lamb and true Temple but Jews rejection doesn’t erase or cancel the promises God made to them.

Jesus wept because He recognized the rejection that eventually led to the downfall of Jerusalem. On the other hand, Jesus cursed the fig tree, a tree that symbolizes Israel & the Jewish people; prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem and its temple. Why? Because (the old covenant) is obsolete and growing OLD will soon DISAPPEAR.” Heb 8:13. 》 Jesus Himself is THE TEMPLE. Are we reverting to the heifer sacrifices, rejecting Christ as the Pascal Lamb by rebuilding the Third Temple?
