@jeremybowers I do a riff on a boulevardier with amaro averna instead of the sweet vermouth (or sometimes with both). You can stretch the total amount of the campari/amaro/vermouth to bring the weight down but keep a lot of the complexity

Working on a session cocktail tonight for thanksgiving; only rules are it has to have whiskey, it has to be below 50 proof, and it has to be stirred, eg, no non-alcohol ingredients like juice or fizzy water.
