My annoyance is not with the Trump coin, and I never said it was bearish for crypto, I think it's quite the opposite. I said I was leaving Twitter, I didnt say I was selling crypto, in fact I bought several coins today on both chains, I'm holding more of my NW in crypto today than ever before. I also like Trump, I rallied for him during the election, so don't turn this into and Artchick doesn't like Trump thing cause I do.
It's obviously bullish that the president is launching memecoins and NFT trading cards etc, I'm not leaving cause of that
I'm leaving cause of this new mantra about crime being bullish. This has gone on for a while now, and I get that you think it's a joke but is it really? You're celebrating people rugging you in public and flaunting wallet balances, you're laughing at people losing money. And you opt for devs to supply control rather than let organic trading determine market price. This is not the environment it was on my rise up, and while I will always support this space as a whole, and the people in it, I'm not sure what's happening to our little corner of the internet that used to be all wagmi and good vibes.
Anyhoo, I am retiring from being a perpetually online crypto Twitter participant. I will be focusing on myself, my (remaining) irl friends and family, and local causes that could benefit from my time and resources. We are indeed currently in the process of large changes to EF leadership structure, which has been ongoing for close to a year. Some of this has already been executed on and made public, and some is still in progress. What we're trying to achieve is primarily the following goals: * Improve level of technical expertise within EF leadership * Improve two-way communications and ties between EF leadership and the ecosystem actors, old and new, that it is our role to support: users (individual and institutional), app devs, wallets, L2s * Bring in fresh talent, improve execution ability and speed * Become more actively supportive of app builders, and make sure important values and inalienable rights (esp privacy, open source, censorship resistance) are a reality for users including at the app layer * Continue to increase our use of decentralized and privacy tech and the Ethereum chain, including for payments and treasury management Explicit *non-goals* are: * Execute some kind of ideological / vibez pivot from feminized wef soyboy mentality to bronze age mindset * Start aggressively lobbying regulators and powerful political figures (esp in USA, but really anywhere, especially large powerful countries), and risking compromising Ethereum's position as a global neutral platform * Become an arena for vested interests * Become a highly centralized org, or even more of a "main character" within Ethereum These things aren't what EF does and this isn't going to change. People seeking a different vision are welcome to start their own orgs.
