take whatever VSL script Claude gives you and .. ... run an isolated hook test instead of using the hook Claude generated for the script ... change the words "you" to "I" and "me" in the story ... remove early comparisons ... remove repetitive sentences ... remove lists of failed solutions (mention for each one WHY it failed) ... remove words like "mechanism" or "solution" ... follow up every logical sentence with an emotional sentence ... make sure the solution mechanism is different from the product mechanism and voilà, watch your ROAS go up

here's why only 1% of supplement brands succeed unprofitable brands focus on: - lowering CPA - increasing new customer acquisition asap - increasing creative volume profitable brands focus on: - how much they make each customer (LTV) - how they can retain every subscriber (churn) - product development & delivery most brands scale with a CPA of $25-$75, which is a $50 gap but dropshippers who don't care about fulfillment & customer experience make $50 per customer, whereas brands who survey their customers regularly & improve the experience make $300 ($250 gap) THAT's the right gap to focus on. Forget about lowering your CPA. same platform, same CPM, but huge difference in their bank accounts

most people doing ecom don't really understand why MRR is so valuable It's not about hoping people forget they're subscribed. If done correctly, MRR ... 1. forces you to get better at product development (keeping your business alive long term) 2. forces you to learn how to lower churn & downsell funnels (also applicable to employee retention) 3. forces you to make really good connections & partnerships with payment processors (lowering failed payments) 4. shifts your focus from short-term profit to the evaluation of your store, value = (new customer CPA * LTV) / risk 5. leads to longer term thinking --> no more "stop loss" whenever testing products Focus on what actually matters & not how force people to stay subscribed that don't even want to stay.

beginner dropshipper starter pack: 1. they get some copywriting prompts they don't understand 2. they don't know what makes & breaks good copy so they don't iterate it 3. they then test those ads in the same CBO against their Kalodata rips and then blame the product for failing. AI is leverage. If you don't know what makes copy good / bad, AI is never going to write good copy for you.

here's why you're stuck at $1k-$3k/day: You're only talking to problem aware people. People who already have a problem & already know they have that problem. That's it. The issue is, since there are more competitors every day + CPMs get more expensive people choose more niched down audiences. Everyone's goal rn is to find their super aware audience pocket & stay there. That's the problem - this is not scalable. So you either 1. find more super aware small audience pockets and stack them up (takes ages) OR (much better) 2. go from "problem" to -> "fear of problem" Start talking to people that don't struggle with the problem yet (prevention) by telling stories. Don't say "Are you afraid of ..." - that would still be problem aware. Say "I've always been afraid of" - you resonate with unaware people by telling stories.

unpopular opinion: there's too much information on ecom YT people watch video after video about - market awareness stages - foundational docs & avatars - native ads - copywriting - VSL ads ... and then end up ripping kalodata content lol understanding the basics IS NOT doing the basics whenever you end up learning only 1 piece of information: spend the next 4 hours applying it & figuring out the execution this is how you learn, this is how you make progress. All of the strategies that you've heard of WORK, you lack execution and not information.

hiring generalists > hiring specialists when I launched my first brand I was (obviously) forced to be a generalist & work on EVERY part of the business why would I then hire a separate media buyer vs data analyst, creative strategist vs copywriter, video editor vs graphic designer ... I'd much rather have 1-5 A-Players in the team who do: - media buying AND data analysis - creative strategy AND copywriting - video editing AND graphic design Not about saving fixed costs, much more about how long it takes to pass on a skill & put the systems in place. The only requirement is that the person I'm looking to hire is hungry, open to learn, good attitude. PLEASE start hiring for attitude, not for skill

delete your chatgpt market research docs it's fascinating to see how many people use some random prompts to generate the fanciest research foundational docs ever & never take a look at them "AI's going to write better copy!" -> Not if YOU don't know what good copy looks like "I know what beliefs to change!" ->No, because you haven't read through your 200 page doc lol "This sets me apart from my competitors" -> Absolutely no, as that's exactly what everyone's doing Real research (also the research that my creative strategists are doing) is CREATIVE INSPIRATION Actually sitting in the ads library for hours and building a list of direct competitors & indirect competitors to learn from. THIS is going to set you apart from competition, as, again, this is what not enough people do. Go from high impact variables to low impact. Example: avatars, desires, ad concept, ad style --> hook length, hook sentence structure, visual focus, ad length, ... Then, fill out that spreadsheet for these variables for MULTIPLE competitors (larger than you & same sized) After that, just blend together all the things each brand has in common & voilà, here's your research that you ACTUALLY understand and that ACTUALLY helps you.

most important $1mil+ ecom learnings this year: 1) if your AOV = LTV, you don't have a business. Fix MRR take-rate, not rev per visitor. Fix churn, not your refund policies. Fix failed payments, not your customer support. 2) if you're ripping content, stop. Terrible traffic quality, Terrible hit-rates, Terrible CPMs, + legal issues (if you've never had them you're lucky) 3) hire for attitude > skill This has been pretty obvious for positions like editors/graphic designers, CSM, ... But even higher leverage jobs like creative strategy, media buying / data analysis, product development require someone young, hungry, open to learn & wanting to grow with you. Don't hire experience & especially don't hire education. 4) quick ad fatigue = too aware audience If you immediately want to scale from $1-3k/days to $10k/days, switch your hooks from problem aware callouts to unaware storytelling. Fear of having a problem >>> having a problem. 5) expand to google ads + native ads A solid product market fit on meta literally means that there's a solid product market fit on google + taboola just waiting for you. Stop missing out on extra money. Also, these platforms will force you to learn funnels which will have a fantastic return on your meta ads as well.

$6k/day ecom case study (no ripped kalodata content lol) One of the brand owners we've been working with has been hitting consistent $5-7k days with his brand. I thought I'd take some time here to share exactly what our learnings & challenges were. 1) If your offer is not converting at 2-3% you MOST LIKELY have an ad issue, not an offer issue. You're attracting the incorrect people to your store. - wrong awareness stage - no discrediting of other solutions - wrong desire (even w same avatar!) -> health, wealth, relationships 2) Your solutions mechanism is NOT your products mechanism. solution mechanism: 1. discrediting other ways to solve problem 2. logical explanation why your way of solving the problem is better 3. logical proof (doctors, studies, ..) 4. emotional proof (social proof, ...) 5. urgency (why now?) product mechanism: 1. pattern interrupt - "But wait! most ... can be dangerous because xyz" 2. discrediting direct competitors 3. pitch 3) Research is everything. Most people say "get the product out there asap" or "rip & launch first, think later" Whenever we hire a new creative strategist the first thing we tell them is that 70% of their work is going to be research. The leverage of just dropping a product whenever you want should not lead to you not putting in the creative strategy that a real ecom brand would. Fill out market research spreadsheets, competitor winning variables spreadsheet, foundational docs, brief docs ... BEFORE testing a product. Thanks for reading, your attention is your most valuable asset!
