Beth used polychrome silk thread, plaited braid stitch, and gold metal passing thread to carefully replicate the flowers, leaves, animals and insects from the original design.

Museum visits were crucial for Beth’s research. She visited the V&A to view an painting of Margaret wearing the jacket. At The Worthing Museum, Beth was able to learn about the construction, materials and techniques by studying a similar jacket and a remanent of embroidery.
