Interesting behaviour management in Stage 3 for a very sports orientated class. If students reach MVP on the peg chart, they take 2 3 point shots at the end. If score successfully, they’re rewarded with 5 mins extra lunch tomorrow. Worked a treat! #acuedu_p

When teaching, it is beneficial to understand the "Gradual Release of Responsibility" model to challenge students at different levels of learning. This model can be seen below: #acuedu_p

Yesterday was a blast from the past! For our presentation, we brought in old fashioned toys & games. We then asked our peers to be history detectives & consider the artefacts through the lense of Inquiry Based Learning by answering questions based on Bloom's Taxonomy!🔎#acuedu_p

When teaching, it is important not to overlook the benefits which students can gain from going on field trips and excursions. Excursions add reality to learning and provide students with exciting hands on and educational experiences outside the walls of the classroom. @acuedu_p

An excellent way to differentiate learning for students is to combine Gardner's Multiple Intelligences with Blooms Taxonomy when planning lessons. This matrix caters for learner diversity and individual learning styles. #acuedu_p

One of the most important tasks you'll have to do as a teacher is plan and design your classroom. Thoughtful planning is required as students need an organised and stimulating environment to learn effectively. classroom.4teachers.org can assist you with your planning. #acuedu_p

Open-ended questions are a great way to encourage creative thinking and practice math skills➗✖️ Very entertaining to see what the students come up with! 💡💫 #ACUedu_p

Throughout the course, I have learned about the importance of seeking Professional Development as a teacher and also about the value of establishing a Personal Learning Network. @acuedu_p

"Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, involve me and I understand". This interesting Chinese proverb highlights the importance of using Inquiry- Based Learning methods in the classroom. Students need opportunities to be actively engaged in their leaning. #acuedu_p

Class Dojo allows teachers to award students with Dojo points for displaying certain skills/ actions. These may include: being kind, following instructions, having good manners etc. This is a useful tool for classroom management as students love earning Dojo points. #acuedu_p

Vygotsky emphasised that in order to learn, learners must be presented with tasks that are just out of reach of their present ability (Zone of Proximal Development). Therefore, let’s ensure that we plan carefully when we differentiate tasks for each of our students. #acuedu_p

Here are a few examples of mini- beasts which year 1 students have created during their study on mini-beasts. The unit is very intriguing for young learners: it allows them to learn more about the small animals they may see on a daily basis in places such as backyards. #ACUedu_p
