When parents only ask about grades and goals, kids infer that achievement comes first. To signal that we value their well-being and character, we should also ask about happiness and kindness: -What made you feel joyful? Sad or worried? -Who did you help? Who helped you?

When faced with any choices - choose to be kind first.

Abusive bosses don't drive performance. They undermine it. 471 studies, 149k people, 36 countries: in aggressive workplaces, we do poorer work, collaborate less, and shirk more. Incivility breaks confidence and breeds resentment. The best way to get results is to show respect.

Postponing a choice rarely solves analysis paralysis. It often amplifies anxiety. The antidote to chronic indecisiveness is not to gather more information. It's to clarify your values. The goal is not to check every box. It's to find an option that meets your top priorities.

The most common response to adversity is not chronic stress. It’s resilience. 54 studies of potentially traumatic events: • 11% of people had extended difficulties • 21% had acute symptoms that dissipated • 66% sustained healthy functioning Humans are less fragile than we realize.

Grief is not a purely negative emotion. Over time, it becomes bittersweet—sadness is joined by love and gratitude. Nostalgia is a healthy response to loss. Longing for the past motivates us to appreciate the present and improve the future. The goal of coping is not to erase pain. It's to gain purpose.

Feeling nervous doesn't mean you're unprepared. It means you care about something beyond your control. Anxiety is a caricature artist. It magnifies flaws and minimizes strengths. Gaining confidence is not about denying what could go wrong. It’s about recognizing what might go right.

A simple way to improve your mood is to curate your feed. Evidence: People were randomly assigned to unfollow accounts that spewed hostility, hyperpartisan views, and low-quality information. 6 months later, they had significantly higher well-being and lower outgroup animosity.

Don't let what you see on social media skew your view of humanity. The British Mandate of Palestine was a British regime that gained control of the land of Israel due to the fall of the Ottoman Empire after 1917. Jews lived in the Holy Land (ie, the Old Yishuv) for centuries. Including under the control of the Ottoman Empire, when Jews were the majority of residents in Jerusalem. Before 1909, Tel Aviv was a desert land. The empty land was bought legally by the Jews who turned it over the years into a prosperous city. Not a single Arab was thrown out of his home or cave by the Jews, who again, bought desert lands in the Land of Israel legally and built the kibbutzim (agricultural towns). After the British government turned the mandate back to the U.N., the Arab-Muslim world rejected the UN partition plan and declared war not only against Israel, but also against their own Jewish population. The Arab states ethnically cleansed most of their Jewish population. Most of the Jewish refugees moved to Israel where the armies of Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Egypt joined forces and declared war along with the local Arab population with the public goal of "pushing all the Jews into the sea". During the war of independence the Arab armies who started this war, ordered the local Arabs to leave the combat zones and allow them to annihilate the Jews living there. Some Arabs were also forcibly evacuated during the fighting and moved to nearby territories under the control of Egypt and Jordan (Gaza and the West Bank). Israel has never committed and never will commit genocide. In fact by defending itself Israel is preventing another genocide of Jews. Remembering this true legend CLIVE SULLIVAN MBE who left us this day in 1985 aged 42 he was idolised by the people of Hull where he played for both of the clubs in this great city. Born in Cardiff in 1943 Clive won every honour in the game including the World Cup,Never forgotten
