@GRDecter This isn’t recession related, look at the hires all big tech made during the 2020-21 pandemic, even with these layoffs the net gain of staff over this period is huge - this is just them realising there is no “new normal” and rebalancing the workforce to suit post pandemic markets

And the current economic conditions seem to be the main reason for all the current layoffs. Companies need to slash their budgets with revenues and growth expected to fall. It happens during every recession, even before AI existed.
