#BREAKING: The Victorian Government has declared a state energy emergency after the Yallourn power station and coal mine, in the Latrobe Valley, was damaged in recent flooding.
The Yallourn power station supplies more than a fifth of the state’s energy.
@bubblytest@abcmelbourne@AshleyLeahy Ok, then what is? Because ALL the current renewables don't cut the mustard. Even if they did prove themselves, the implementation of any one of them en masse would take 20 years. It needs to be accepted that we can't shut coal down until a renewable is proven....
@bubblytest@abcmelbourne@AshleyLeahy Yeah. Except renewables cant produce the required power to meet load requirements. When will people understand this? I'm all for funding more work on renewables, but realistically we need coal for at least another 20+ years.
@KKeneally@cporterwa Do you mean the borderforce officers? Is it their responsibility to establish health conditions or simply ensure a person has a legal right to enter Australia? Wouldn't the Ruby Princess issue be something NSW Dept Health would be responsible for?
if you voted liberal you voted to racism. you voted to no action on climate change. you voted on cut taxes for the wealthy. you voted for white supremacy. and you’ve fucked up the future of australia. #Election2019Results
