My car got hit by a retarded African last year whose name I couldn’t even pronounce and who did not show me his drivers license if he even had one. He was driving a rental car and he hit me in a casino parking lot as we were exiting me and he was going so fast despite constant stops gates and traffic lights that if he did not hit my car he would’ve literally killed the young white couple walking in front of my car. Guy got out of the car and immediately started kicking my car to try to get the dents out. It was insanely retarded and I had to put meaningful effort into the situation just to get him to stop. Ultimately I filed a police report and my insurance company went the better part of a year without paying out the damages which were just under $2K. And they told me that if they couldn’t secure the money from the rental car company I wouldn’t be getting any of my money back. After over 6 months of calling them and them delaying things or telling me some excuse or something, they had yet to be of any help and I decided to reach out to the company myself. Around this time I received something in the mail from the rental car company stating that there was no evidence of their car being in an accident or any of this ever having taken place, despite their being ample pictures a police report and a copy of the rental car agreement signed and dated. My insurance company did nothing with this info and so I had to legally threaten the rental car company until eventually they just sent me a check directly after I pushed hard enough. All of the process was insane, every element of it, and my insurance company no less charges me over $5K a year for a car worth $20K or less. Insurance really is a disgusting industry. Somehow it’s still not even as close to as bad as medical insurance though.
