@MrsKadyLady When you can grab your prescription, a Twix, and 15 minutes with a skilled therapist in the same place then we are well on the way toward destigmatizing mental health treatment. #SUsocialwork

This is an excellent way to provide equitable access to mental health services and work to close the Healthcare disparity in marginalized communities. #SUsocialwork mashable.com/article/cvs-th…

@Cal28542416 @frednewspost I have no pity for Jenkins. He feels the "new laws usurp his authority as an elected sheriff." Nope, you were elected to carry out the laws of this state. Now it's time for you to be accountable to your constituents. #SUsocialwork

Legal loopholes prevent communications from legally/assertively protecting citizens who are at risk to as well as protecting citizens who experience suicidal/homicidal ideations. Comprehensive gun control works to protect all #SUsocialwork washingtonpost.com/outlook/2021/0…

@charlotteSU2020 It doesn't really represent any code of ethics, does it? Let's make our extremely secure voting system more accessible, not less. #SUSocialwork

NASA's first moon effort had John Glenn and Neil Armstrong. This era of exploration has Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos—and their very public, often juvenile rivalry. @marinakoren reports: on.theatln.tc/gIxcTTi

@MrsKadyLady @MegMcCaskill_SU True! Unfortunately social work is not immune to the pressures of capitalism, productivity demands, not to mention our own demands of ourselves. I hope I can remember to advocate for my own needs more often in the future #SUSocialwork

@MegMcCaskill_SU I think this is the other side of empathy. Often workers so empathize with their consumers & the relentless need that they forget about themselves. I was thankful to have good leadership actively encourage self care when I experienced this as many aren't so lucky. #SUsocialwork

Personal mental health and wellness effects consumer care, long term health and burnout risks. It is imperative that social workers care for themselves first so that they can assist and support others. #SUsocialwork healthline.com/health/mental-…

Here's a fun fact: 24 million Americans claim English ancestry. Let's see... that's less than 10 percent. Something tells me that our political traditions may not be so Anglo-Saxon after all. #Susocialwork
Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi@CongressmanRaja

Describing the United States as a place with “uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions” is another way of saying “if you’re not white and Christian, you don’t belong here.” washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/…

@Caitlin_MSW2020 With a baby on the way, I count myself as extremely lucky to be employed by an agency that recognizes the importance of paternity leave. If we don't support our parents, we can't expect the birth rate to rise. #Susocialwork

@MollyFields_SU "(The Governor) didn't grow up in a neighborhood where he saw a shooting before his 10th birthday and he's not had a gun pointed in his face.” Glad Maryland has a legislature that can be responsible to its constituents. @SUsocialwork

Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott speaking on police reform. Baltimore City has a negative history when examining police misconduct- it is great to see change happening in local legislation. #SUsocialwork

Sweeping police reform has passed in the Maryland legislature. Baltimore’s @MayorBMScott says he has to reimagine the city’s police force. “Being a Black man in this country is exhausting...We know we can do other things." #velshi ow.ly/xorI50ElLMY

This has been on my mind a long time. HHS is the unseen glue that holds our society together. We are underpaid, underappreciated and fed up! I wonder if this could happen here and what it would look like... @SUSocialWork timesofisrael.com/social-workers…

@MrsKadyLady @charlotteSU2020 I hope so! Social work is, well, "social," which means transmission of more than just information. I was told by a supervisor in March 2020 that we couldn't do this job from a computer screen. Turns out that safety demanded it, and we did fine #SUsocialwork

@charlotteSU2020 I think the way that we employ and preform work will be changed now that we have collectively experienced contact isolation. Often employers and employees didn't think about how their decision making in the name of productivity effected ours. #SUsocialwork

@TheAtlantic @KatherineJWu The publicity campaign around vaccinations will have to be smart and prepare for all the misinformation already out there. Cherry picking individual cases doesn't mean the vaccine doesn't work! #Susocialwork
