One of the interesting arguments the JP side has had against Stop Killing Games is that to make an offline version or would cost 50% to 100% more of the games original budget to do it.
I'm not sure if this is just a blatant lie, genuine incompetence or total ignorance.
We have guys with no access to the source code able to reverse engineer servers with, relatively speaking, minimal effort.
If Joe Everyman can do it for 0 dollars in his basement without the nessecary information, how come companies that actually have that information apparently can't do?

「Stop Killing Games」のまとめ。 なんかいっぱい絡まれたから海外ニキと対話（レスバじゃないよw）した結果、要求のレベルが３段階くらいあるのが分かった。 サ終してもオフラインで動くようにしろ派： いまカリフォルニア州法に提出されてるライン。 メーカーにとっては対応コスト高すぎなんや。どないすんねん…… サーバー立てる為にソースを公開しろ派： つまり俺らでサーバー立ててホスティングするわって話。 ソースコードなんていう知財と企業秘密の塊をほいほい公開できるわけないやろアホタレって返した。（もう少し優しい言い方） 勝手に解析してサーバー立てるから黙認しろ派： いまニーアのプライベートサーバーで盛り上がってる界隈かな。 サーバー自体が法に触れるかは難しいけど、そのサーバーに繋ぐよう改造したアプリを撒くなら、それは紛れもなく「海賊版」なんだよね。 あと共通点として。 ゲームをオフライン版に改修するコストがほぼゼロだと思ってるっぽい。 ゲームは「購入」して「所有」するものという認識で、ライブサービスを受けている自覚がない。 大手メーカーをすげー嫌ってる。（でもゲームは買ってプレイしている） だいたいこんな感じかな。 英語とスペイン語が多くて、英語話者もヨーロッパのアカウントが多い感じだった。

The game is OFFLINE on official servers. Square Enix has CUT THEIR LOSSES on Reincarnation as a product. There is no harm done to anyone by hosting a fan based server.

They would have to consume less than 1000kcal to start losing weight again(They shouldn't do this because they are anorexic and it is unhealthy). Thermodynamics still applies.

It seems y'all don't understand how it works. No one gives a shit if a few thousand people are on anime piracy site "x" because it's not worth the legal fees to hit all the little sites that can pop up faster than they can shut them down. Pulling numbers like Hianime, makes it worth it to shut the site down. They were pulling numbers better than Crunchyroll. If crunchyroll could get a fraction of those people back to their subscription they could make back any money they spent on legal fees. So yes, gate keep the fuck out of your sites. The less people and traffic on your site the less likely it is to draw attention.

Claiming UE5's performance problems are just "devs who don't know what they're doing" is the tech version of "the system works, you just need to work harder."
When many developers ship games with the same issues, it points to the engine's architecture. Unreal's OOP-heavy design pushes developers toward expensive abstractions (which doesn't even save the developer time, in fact, it does the opposite). If good performance requires bypassing half the engine with custom code and workarounds, the onus is on Unreal.
