@cbsgy12 @startkyIeorton Yeah, but not thinking an HC like Ben hitches his wagon to a QB1 like that. Smart, in-demand coaches know their legacy is tied to results and turn down situations where there’s no clear path to an elite QB1.

@startkyIeorton Idk, I think there was enough there from Ohio State that showed he could’ve been a pretty solid starter. He just needed the right coaches and never got that, and now it’s likely too late for him unfortunately. Like you give him Ben and I think he’s a dependable 8-10 W QB1

Yeeah that was part of why the Fields stuff was so contentious. The Bears absolutely did everything wrong in his development and then tossing him aside after felt unfair. But even if they'd done everything right he's likely not that good and either way the damage was already done
