One thing with losing faith in Woltemade is looking at other summer bids, Sesko and Stand-Larsen, there was a clear pattern in targeting a tall forward.
Based on this season #NUFC must be in the market for another and I’d be concerned if those who planned last Summer, plan this.
English

@Regista10_ @asaintmaximin Eddie hates that!
Eddie hates mavericks.
Eddie hates unpredictability.
Eddie wants discipline.
Eddie wants reliability.

Not everyone's cuppa tea
But look at what we had to be replaced by the likes of Barnes and Elanga. 💀💀 #nufc @asaintmaximin

@steve_d7 @Magpie24_7 Neither has this kid. Yes, the loans have been honking, but the player still has a responsibility to make it work. If they’re not getting minutes, that’s on them, not Shola. And, he is only the loan liaison. People seem to think he arranged the loan, he didn't.
English

@Magpie24_7 Part of this rebuild has to be sacking Shola and anyone else connected to the loan department. How many wonder kids have they ruined since Kuol? The one success didn't even kick a ball for us.

🇪🇸 The initial excitement surrounding Newcastle United prospect Antoñito Cordero appears to be fading as the young forward faces heavy criticism in the Spanish press. After joining us on a free transfer last summer—beating out giants like Real Madrid and Barcelona—Cordero was sent on loan to Westerlo before moving to Cádiz in January. However, his return to Spain has been anything but triumphant.
Local outlets, specifically Málaga Hoy, have been quick to point out that the 19-year-old’s performances have been entirely unremarkable. Since joining Cádiz, he has failed to record a single goal or assist in LaLiga2. This lack of production was particularly evident during a recent 3-0 loss to his former club, Málaga. While his former team handled his return with a level of affection, the media coverage has been much more clinical and dismissive.
The narrative regarding Cordero has shifted from high-potential wonderkid to a cautionary tale of "hype" not meeting reality. Journalists have noted that there has been no discernible leap in quality since his move to England, and the patience of the Cádiz faithful is reportedly wearing thin. For many in Spain, there is a sense of quiet satisfaction in his struggles, especially after Málaga felt slighted by his decision to leave for a bigger paycheck in the Premier League.
At this stage, the young loanee finds himself at a crossroads. The objective data simply does not support the reputation he arrived with, leaving him with a narrowing window of time to prove he can still justify the significant interest we showed in him last year. Another loan next season seems inevitable as he will be nowhere near the levels Newcastle need him to be at to trouble the first team!

@craiglongmore @SkySports_Keith At the game. The level of vitriol expletives and overall bad feeling about the performance flying round to then flip to the "Eddie Howe B&W army" song didn't half confuse me!!
English

@SkySports_Keith The lack of criticism of the manager at this point is just weird. Why is that? He's nice to you lot I'm guessing?
English

🚨 Felt like a must-win for Newcastle today - what with the fixtures coming up.
🙈 But you simply can’t get away with conceding less than a minute after scoring - TWICE! That’s the first time I think I’ve seen that happen!
🙃 It feels like the more winnable the game is, the more Newcastle struggle.
😵💫 Thankfully for them they’ve got Man United, Barcelona (twice), Man City, and Chelsea up next…
⚽️ The set-up cost #NUFC in the first 30, the lack of incision in the second half…
English

@mhardysport I swear the london hacks look for negativity from fans and feast on it with joy. Few early unfavourable comments and its news to poke the bear. Honestly, if legit, I dont hate it, Its different, given its vertical stripes.

@mrdanlaws @MsiDouglas ...he's shite.
We all know it. Strikers & wingers all very mediocre at best.
English

@MsiDouglas I’m all for being kind to Elanga to try and help his confidence, but ………….
English

Zero momentum all season - think you can see confidence is low in key moments. Doesn't help that fixture list is so unrelenting (issues can't be addressed on training ground atm) but Villa are in Europe too & flying.
Lack of creativity in final third a big, big problem RN. One of Elanga's better performances when he came on I thought but no cutting edge. Changing system worth a go... until a point where the big issues can be addressed in a transfer window.
2 wins against top half all season tells its own story #nufc

@MeiaArmador__ @VPanopticon Id fear the club have no idea who these guys are!! With Wilson as DoF I'd be more inclined to think a Steve Cooper is more likely. Shiver!!
English

@VPanopticon A rough answer would be Fabregas, Giraldez, and Sarabia from the young coaches. For a more definite answer I’ll have to think about it.

There’s a reason why you have never seen me put Howe in conversations around the elite. There are fundamental strategic issues in his approach that simply don’t work for a team aiming to be around the top of the league consistently.
Howe’s idea in possession is heavily based on creating through underlaps and overlaps via the positional rotations in the wide triangles FB–CM–W. This is a great tool to have, but Newcastle are overly dependent on it. This, in correlation with the fact that Howe primarily plays with constant double width in his 4-3-3, naturally forces his team wider. You will very rarely see a Newcastle player receiving between the lines facing forward in settled play, which requires a lot more carrying and baiting from the back four combined with zonal pinning, rather than the constant pass-and-move sequences in the wide triangle. This severely impacts the central and half-space (objectively the most valuable area of the pitch) threat Newcastle are able to generate.
The most worrying aspect is the lack of temporal awareness. Newcastle go long far more often than they should, even when there is a clear free man in the build-up. This, in turn, drastically limits the amount of control they can generate. These strategic issues are also aligned with the physical expenditure required from the players. When you combine this with the fact that Howe has a very strong bias towards out-of-possession attributes in recruitment, it makes the perfect combination of a coach who can occasionally get into Europe but ultimately cannot challenge at the very top consistently.

Meia Armador - Mufaddal Idris Burhani@MeiaArmador__
Eddie Howe falls in the same boat alongside Thomas Frank, David Moyes and Sean Dyche. Great out of possession coaches but very limited at controlling games through possession. The biggest mistake is when the recruitment becomes oriented only towards out of possession attributes,—

@geoffadamson @CoachMeron Our newly installed set-piece 'guru'.
Think we are distinctly worse than last season, especially defending them.
English

@CoachMeron How we never win second balls. Particularly from corners.
No one ever on edge of box from corners or free kicks. Who’s coaching this shambles ?
English

What should journalists ACTUALLY ask Eddie Howe?
1) Why don’t you play Woltemade and Wissa together when chasing games?
2) We struggle against low blocks where teams allow us to have the ball — is this tactical, personnel-based, or both?
3) Has the squad been built with too much emphasis on athleticism over creative technical players?
4) Why is our game management among the worst in the league from winning and losing positions? What’s the biggest factor?
5) There’s a perception of loyalty to certain players. Is there genuine competition for places, or are some players trusted more than others regardless of form?
Any others I’m missing? #NUFC

@SkySportsPL If his name was Endrik Höwe, you'd soon change your tune, ya whopper.
English

@BrownKeverdinho @GeronimoMorgans They'll be both. "Multi club sofa plastics"
English

We have eyes. We watch football. This is a total disgrace and it's infuriating.
This is one of the worst officiating performances I've ever seen against us.
Samuel Barrot lost control of this match. One of Joelinton or Tonali (if not both) should have been sent off for the reckless fouls they kept making on our players.
Foden was denied a clear penalty.
We were robbed.
The referee was completely swayed by the St. James' Park crowd. What was left on that pitch was rugby, not football.
I will never forget this. Not once.
English

@The_Looney_Toon It really isn't! He's been v poor. Lumbering and accident prone at best.
English

@dan1992_dan Exactly. I pay membership annually for a glimmer of hope obtaining tickets through the correct channels. The reality is there is no chance. By paying that, you just make the situation worse! I won't do it, principles.
English

@andybiotix I was in the members queue got none cos was so many people in it. Yet in ticket sites people selling them for £110 each great system we have
English

Has anyone got tickets through general sale? 80k were in the que from 10am today for Athletic game. Im doubting there were ever any tickets available! but club want to be seen as giving mag members a chance. Con. #nufc #sparetickets

@MsiDouglas @21Milner You correctly describe osula being raw, then mention Neave. We're massively short in quality in the attacking department. 3 game week is worrying.
English

@21Milner I just think Saturday showed how raw he is. Two reliable forwards, Gordon can play there. Might Neave get a go against the mighty Bantams? I think they're ok
English

If this one comes off, it almost covers Wissa fee for PSR purposes....
