Sheffield Wednesday have three home games left to score at least twice, or they risk breaking the all-time EFL record for the fewest goals scored at home in a season with more than 21 home games.
Huddersfield Town currently hold the record with just 12 home goals, set in the 1971/72 season.
Wednesday also need at least one more goal before the end of the campaign to avoid equalling the all-time EFL record for the fewest goals scored in a season - held by Watford, also from 1971/72.

@WTIDPOD Let’s all calm down there is still a long way to go with this and those fuckers still want there pound of flesh… but I feel the same 👍
English

@_GeorgeSmith99 Right now they couldn’t deliver a cold kebab, what a balls up this is 😡
English

The #SWFC Supporters' Trust: "The minimum expectation of SWFC fans is that we can put out a team that is competitive in League One next season. We need our future ownership in place as quickly as possible if we are to have any chance of delivering that."

@OwlPricey @AlexJPMiller 😂😂😂 that’s class, I feel loads better now 👍

🚨BREAKING: The Bord consortium have withdrawn from the process to buy SWFC.
They say withdrawal comes with sadness but developed understanding of SWFC means their valuation of club now 'significantly lower' than tabled bid.
More to come.

@OwlPricey @AlanBiggs1 Alan you was on this from the get go, we have lost the whole season when we could have started the rebuild months ago, fuming 😡
English

People blame the media but we don’t go around with ear plugs in. There’ve been doubts & concerns about the Bord bid from the start - as I reflected here at the time. Cards on the table, I believe #SWFC can do better & I only want what’s best for the club.

English

@AlanBiggs1 @AlexJPMiller Absolute bs, I’m no expert but every man and his dog could see how much money this would take to turn around, and for the first time we have to be looking at the administrators in making this foolhardy decision in the first place
English

In addition to the reason for the Bord bid withdrawal as stated in @AlexJPMiller’s excellent reveal, it’s fair to wonder whether the group feared rejection by the EFL/IFR. As I said last weekend, good sources had serious doubt they would pass.
English

@YesWeCrann I bloody well knew this would happen. They should have gone for one of the low ball offers tuck the 15 points and gone for it next year, what a complete and utter waste of time this has been, effin fuming 😡
English

“Our initial bid had constraints applied on our ability to renegotiate – which is crucial as the figure we offered is significantly higher than that justified by the findings of a lengthy due diligence process.”
Just feels like a big waste of time if you ask me. #SWFC 🦉⚽️

@alex_crook on another note, the silence from Hillsborough is defining 😡. And they want to pay him £15m
English

@OwlPricey @EFL These fuckers would watch a well run dry before they do anything about it
English

There’s now a genuinely realistic chance that Sheffield United actually relegate Sheffield Wednesday on February 22nd…
If #SWFC lose to Swansea City and Millwall, and Blackburn/West Brom pick up a point in the next two, then defeat at Bramall Lane will be the final nail.
English

@GarySiddall1 @1Blueowl As Sir Alex Ferguson once said “I wouldn’t give him a virus “ 🖕
English

And the dimwits at the EFL want the new owners to give him a £15 million pay out
CJ@cjdecorators
Let’s not forget who is solely responsible for the firestorm ripping through our club #swfc and why our squad is being decimated.
English

And more than likely we wouldn’t be losing a bonafide club legend
PriceyOwl@OwlPricey
Should’ve just gone for Mike Ashley, it’d have been sorted by now
English

@timothyowl @JohnCla69414577 @AlanBiggs1 I’m not advocating him by any means but he’s a football man as well as a business man and already knows the pitfalls of owning a football club
English

@timothyowl @JohnCla69414577 @AlanBiggs1 I know Ashley is not everyone’s cup of tea but he would put everything in place behind the scenes that needs to be done with the right people in the right places unlike the previous owner
English

Thanks Andy. Some call it “pot stirring” - when this is the first piece I’ve written on it. Pointless not saying what I think, right or wrong. Don’t see anything underhand here - just that money is king when (as per DC) there are other important factors.

@AlanBiggs1 That’s a great piece of journalism Alan to which I fully agree with. I do get that impression though that this is what is happening, I like many thousands of other supporters cannot get my head around this proposed take over being the preferred bidder, something smells here.
English

@JohnCla69414577 @timothyowl @AlanBiggs1 That is the part that I’m concerned about John, right now we need people that knows football inside out and who to use to get the most out of a club and I honestly can’t see that from this consortium but hoping to be proven wrong 🤞
English

@timothyowl @andychance65 @AlanBiggs1 Most owners make batshit appointments at some point, but I’d have thought Ashley would have run the business on a day to day, not the football
Bord may want to have his finger in all the pies, certainly recruitment, he thinks that’s his area of expertise 😳🙈
English

@JohnCla69414577 @AlanBiggs1 Not just managerial but full football assets behind the scenes
English

@AlanBiggs1 @andychance65 Maybe, but I believe Bord believes he is a “ football person”, a that’s where the potential pitfalls arise.
Ashley would have appointed the best management team he could muster, I’d gamble Bord will go with a yes man.
English

@AlanBiggs1 Absolutely correct and the due diligence of both parties needs to be 100% on this. The biggest bid is not always the best option
English

“Sleepwalking into new ownership, after all that’s gone before, is simply not an option.”
Can’t understand any shrugging of shoulders. An honest view, take it or leave it.
