The fixtures this season have been an absolute shit show from start to finish. All the Monday nights and now we are 2 weeks away from our last home game of the season and we still don’t know for definite if it’s Friday or Sunday until the week before.

So there we have it — MW37 TV fixtures are official, but still without real certainty, we won’t know when the Manchester United v Nottingham Forest fixture will take place until 7 May, once the outcome of the Aston Villa v Forest European tie is confirmed. That means the match could be scheduled on the 15th or 17th of May, with either 8 or 10 days' notice, yet supporters are still expected to make plans around a fixture that remains unconfirmed. The game is scheduled for 17 May 12:30 unless Forest reach the Europa League Final, in which case it will move to the 15th, a Friday. This isn’t Manchester United’s fault, but it does raise a valid policy point. If a fixture date can still be moved less than two weeks before it is due to be played, there should be some flexibility on the £10 charge #MUFC charge for reselling tickets within that timeframe. The Premier League previously justified its delayed broadcast announcement by saying: “FA Cup semi-finals take place on 25–26 April. This is to avoid further amendments to Premier League matches scheduled for the same weekend” That statement carries little weight until supporters receive confirmation, which is now pending following qualification for the Europa League Final. So much for greater certainty. Supporters remain in limbo, once again. Modern football, bloody hell.
