We are shocked and utterly dismayed at the loss of the Sycamore Gap tree. It was a source of inspiration, delight and solace for hundreds of years and we stand with our Hadrian’s Wall partners and neighbours @NlandNP and @nationaltrust

I would love to know what happened to it.

A sundial made from a chalk slab found at Richborough and dating AD43-150.
Unfortunately it wouldn't have worked. If one of my mistakes lasts many centuries and ends up in a museum I'll take that.
