In 1942, in Nazi-occupied Tunisia—the only Arab country to suffer direct German occupation—a drunken officer bragged at dinner about the Jewish woman he planned to seize from a forced brothel. He named her. Across the table sat Khaled Abdul-Wahab, a 31-year-old wealthy Muslim Tunisian who had studied art and architecture in New York, spoke fluent German, and was trusted by the Nazis. They invited him to their tables. He smiled, poured the wine, finished the meal… then raced through the night. He pounded on the door of the woman’s family at midnight. “Pack nothing. Come now.” He gathered 25 terrified Jews—mothers, fathers, children, cousins—and drove them nearly 20 miles to his family farm. For four agonizing months, he hid them in the olive press, stables, and storage sheds. He fed them as supplies ran desperately low. He kept crying babies silent. When German soldiers came to count Jews, the hidden families pinned on their yellow stars, stood motionless, then tore them off the moment the danger passed. One terrifying night, a drunk soldier stumbled upon them and threatened to kill everyone. An 11-year-old girl, hiding under a bed, watched in horror—until Khaled appeared like a guardian angel. He calmly disarmed the soldier and sent him away. No one on that farm died. In May 1943, the British liberated Tunisia. The 25 returned home alive. Khaled went back to his quiet life—painting, raising daughters, serving his country—and never spoke of it again. Not to his wife. Not to his children. He died in 1997 at 86. His secret died with him. A decade later, his daughter Faiza sat in a Paris café reading a newspaper. An American historian was describing a Tunisian Arab who had hidden 25 Jews. He named her father. She was 45 years old and hearing the story for the first time. “I rediscovered my father,” she said. Khaled was nominated to be the first Arab recognized as Righteous Among the Nations—Israel’s highest honor for those who saved Jews. The committee declined. Today, those 25 souls have hundreds of descendants living in Israel, France, America, and Tunisia. The little girl under the bed grew up, built a family in Paris. None of them would exist if Khaled had looked away that night. He had everything to lose. He acted anyway. Then he carried the silence for the rest of his life. The world almost forgot him twice. Now you know his name: Khaled Abdul-Wahab. A true hero. A Muslim who stood against evil when it mattered most. Colorized image of black and white photo poster by Israel the Jewish State.

In the 1997 Armand Assante version of The Odyssey the great Vanessa Williams (left) was cast as Calypso in the Greek epic and no one was outraged because she was unbelievably hot.

Another heartbreaking story from October 7th. 13 retirees from southern Israel went on a morning trip to the Dead Sea. When rockets began falling, they stopped in Sderot and tried to take shelter in a nearby bomb shelter — but it was locked. Moments later, Hamas terrorists entered the city and murdered all 13 of them. Ordinary people. A peaceful Saturday morning. Turned into horror. Never forget October 7th. 💔

I was on a train in Tokyo. We stopped between stations. Announcement in Japanese, then in English: "We apologize for the delay. We will resume shortly." The delay was maybe 3 minutes. Not a big deal. When the train started moving again, another announcement: "We sincerely apologize for the delay. We were stopped for 3 minutes and 20 seconds. This is unacceptable. Thank you for your patience." Three minutes and twenty seconds. They measured it exactly. And called it unacceptable. When I got off at my stop, there were station staff on the platform bowing and handing out delay certificates. I took one out of curiosity. It was an official document stating that the train had been delayed by 3 minutes and 20 seconds, signed and stamped. The staff member said in English "for your employer. So they know the delay was not your fault." I said I'm a tourist, I don't need it. He looked confused. "But the delay affected you. You deserve an apology." Three minutes. They were treating a three-minute delay like a major incident. Later I mentioned this to a Japanese friend. They said "oh yes, delay certificates are normal. Trains are supposed to be exactly on time. If they are late, they must apologize." I said three minutes isn't late, it's nothing. My friend said "in Japan, three minutes is late. On time means on time. Not approximately on time." They said the train company probably investigated why there was a 3-minute delay. "They will find the cause and fix it so it doesn't happen again." I kept the certificate. It's framed in my apartment now. A reminder that somewhere in the world, people care about three minutes. © 6IX. @BSAT_Properties

In Gaza, two men were caught on video handing food to kids, snapping photos, then taking it back. In the background, the person filming says in Arabic: “He’s taking the plate, and keeps going to the next kid.” Starvation? No. Propaganda. Their whole identity is based on lies.

I lost my seat on Thursday. A safe labour ward. Personally I don’t think Keir should go. I’m speaking purely for myself. Those who know me know I’ve not been his biggest fan of late. What’s done cannot be undone. But he should finish the job we gave him.

Starmer is far from perfect, he’s not a natural communicator, his communications team is terrible, he’s made some strange and disastrous appointment ie Mandelson. But someone explain to me how he’s a terrible PM. He’s serious, statesmanlike, gets on with the job well.

I’m v glad to hear the breaking news on the BBC News channel that the Prime Minister is not going anywhere and that if people want a different PM they should use the process of the Labour Party. He won the election, he has the mandate, he’s a good leader & he should stay PM.

I was in the room for @Keir_Starmer speech this morning. Based on what I saw and how it was delivered, I have only one conclusion. Keir should stay in post. Keir was absolutely in his element, the content of the speech shows that he understands the issues, the actions shows that after certain personnel departures we are now supercharging the right direction. These elections were difficult, in Stevenage although we removed the leader of the Reform UK group from the council, we still lost 9 seats, which is a huge blow from winning 32/39 seats two years ago. We didn’t do enough to convince the public things will get better, but we never will if we are embroiled in our own psychodrama. It is understandable that MP’s right now are getting pressure put on them from councillors, activists and local party members, a lot of whom have been wiped out last weekend, or have close friends and colleagues who have lost their seats. My message to them, is stay strong. If today is any indicator, were are on the right path & you should not put that in jeopardy. Keir Starmer was elected to lead national renewal. If he takes the bold steps he outlined to change how government works, speak clearly about who Labour governs for and why, coupled with the pace of delivery already under way, a second term remains within reach. Swapping leaders will not get us there. That is the clear to me.

The public will not forgive us if we start turning inwards. We were elected with a clear mandate. When we go into the next election with the question of who should run the country: Keir, Kemi, or Nigel - the answer is clear. Keir delivered 2024, he can deliver again.

No, you don’t. A vagina is the gateway to life. It’s self-cleaning, self-lubricating, and can stretch to accommodate an entire baby before returning to its original size. What you have, sir, is a fauxgina, a dead-end fvckhole that doesn’t clean itself (and let’s be honest, you won’t clean it either), and which will have to be kept open by dilation for the rest of your life, lest it close up on you like the open wound it is. The only thing it has in common with a vagina is its location and its general shape, but even that is never quite right. It’s a fake, a phony, a hole that exists for no other reason than to be penetrated, and if I wrote down my hopes for its future, I’d probably get suspended.
