@10NewsAU The ALP owns pokie machine venues.
Not affiliated. OWNS them.
Australia has the highest gambling losses per person on earth $1,635 per adult. More than double the US.
The party meant to fix that is taking $78,500 a day from the same machines. Every day. $28 million a year.
English

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced a long-delayed crackdown on gambling advertising at the National Press Club.
The reforms are aimed at reducing children’s exposure and breaking the link between sport and betting.
Measures include caps on TV ads, longer blackout periods during matches, a ban on advertising at stadiums and on jerseys, as well as broadcast restrictions around school pick-up times.
A full ban on ads has been ruled out, despite ongoing pressure following a major review into gambling harm.

English

@10NewsAU Yeah. There should be a complete ban on gambling advertising everywhere! Like tobacco and alcohol. So why not? They know the severe consequences of it?, - the worst in the world. A $10B direct gambling state governments tax revenue might have something to do with it? 🤔.. Maybe

Question for you:
If your Muslim neighbor demands you get rid of your dog “to respect Islam,” what would you do?
Tell them to pound sand?
Move the dog?
I would personally tell them to pound more than sand.
Or start questioning why you’re expected to change your life for their religion?
In the West, dogs are family.
Islam calls them impure (najis) and traditionally forbids keeping them as pets.
Angels supposedly won’t enter a house with a dog.
Your home. Your rules.
Their religion stops at your property line.
What’s your answer? 🐕

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's national address offered nothing new on fuel security, with Sky News host Andrew Bolt saying it served as little more than an "unpaid advertisement" while Australians continue to struggle with rising costs.
