🏆WSD can now confirm the final four invited players for the upcoming 2025 BetGoodwin Seniors World Darts Championship. Following the conclusion of a long stint with the PDC, we are delighted to confirm that Simon Whitlock has accepted an invitation to play in Purfleet at our World Championship for the first time. Simon is a 2022 PDC World Cup Champion, alongside his Australia team-mate Damon Heta, and 'The Wizard' won the European Championship in 2012. He has also been a World Championship finalist with both the BDO at Lakeside in 2008, and in 2010 with the PDC, where he lost out to the imperious Phil Taylor at Alexandra Palace. Also fresh off a lengthy stay in the PDC ranks, Mervyn King will also be present at The Circus Tavern, as he bids to claim the trophy at the first attempt. 'The King' is a former Winmau World Master, and reached the final of both the 2002 and 2004 BDO World Championships at Frimley Green. A popular figure in the sport, John Part will also be gracing the Circus Tavern stage once again, and the three-time Champion of the World will travel from Canada to play in our flagship event. Rounding off the four invited players will be former BDO World Trophy winner, Darryl Fitton, who will bring his fan-friendly walk-on to the Tavern. WSD Chairman, Jason Francis, said; "We are really pleased to be able to confirm these four players for our upcoming World Championship". "They all need little introduction, and will all be welcome additions to what is already a tournament stacked full of talent". "It's set to be our biggest and most keenly-contested World Championship to date, and we can't wait for it all to get underway!". Three spots now remain for the World Championship, and these will be filled by the winners of our trio of qualifying events, to be held in Reading at the beginning of February. The final field will be 28, with 16 players coming from the WSD World Rankings, and the Race to the Tavern Order of Merit, and Steve Beaton, Vincent van der Voort, Trina Gulliver, Lisa Ashton and Chris Mason accepted invites at the back end of 2024. If you are over 45 and think you have what it takes to play on the biggest Seniors stage of all, you can register to play here: worldseniorsdarts.com/WSDT_registrat… Tickets for the four-day event, that runs from February 19-22, are available here: dartshop.tv/world-seniors-… The draw for the 2025 BetGoodwin Seniors World Darts Championship will take place from 8pm on Online Darts' Live Lounge show tomorrow evening. @betgoodwinuk @Winmau @TuffStuff_UK @OfficialOLDarts @Darts_World @dartscircuit @MSSdarts @tntsports @discoveryplusUK @SWhitlock180 @DarthMaple180 @FittonDarryl
