We’ve become desensitized to what a billion naira is due to constant headlines of embezzlement. 1 billion naira will pay a ₦500k monthly salary to 10 people for over 16 YEARS!!

MY REMARKS ON THE ENUGU AIR RUNWAY EXCURSION AT BENIN AIRPORT I received, with profound relief, the news of the runway excursion involving an Enugu Air aircraft during its landing at Benin Airport today. First, I join all Nigerians in expressing heartfelt gratitude to God Almighty that all 68 passengers and crew members on board disembarked safely, with no injuries or casualties recorded. The safety of human lives must always remain our highest priority. I commend the pilot, the flight crew, and the airport emergency response teams at Benin Airport for their swift and professional handling of the situation, which averted what could have been a major tragedy. Their calmness and decisiveness under pressure are deeply commendable. While we celebrate this safe outcome, the incident serves as a sober reminder of the critical need for strict adherence to aviation safety protocols, rigorous routine maintenance, and continuous infrastructure upgrades across our airports nationwide. I urge the relevant regulatory and investigative bodies—particularly the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB)—to conduct a thorough, transparent, and timely investigation into the root cause of this incident. Learning from occurrences such as this is essential to strengthening public confidence in our aviation sector and ensuring that our skies remain consistently safe. May God continue to guide and protect all travellers across our nation. – PO

I need to get something off my chest. I appreciate the "nobody is bigger than the club" stance and the "if he wants to go, he can go" approach. However, I'm simply of the opinion that exceptions exist for EXCEPTIONAL servants of the club. Yes, Rodri falls into that category. Yes, Bernardo, despite wanting to go to Barcelona for 3-4 years, falls into that category. And yes, Aguero, who had one foot out the door to Chelsea in 2017, also falls into that category. You demand the world from these players and when a select few of them actually EARN it for you, you treat them all the same? If you say "it's all the same," then you're effectively saying merit, earned credit, the blood, sweat, and tears they shed for the club mean nothing. Ridiculous. If the expectation is that every single player should stay at City until they drop dead, or that the only way they should leave is when City say so, what kind of one-sided, delusional relationship is that? Same people who said Rodri should be sold and we're better off without him are the ones slandering him. They did the same gimmick with De Bruyne when he was recovering from his injury. Bernardo, despite always being available and fighting for the badge, was called useless and washed. Loyalty only when it suits you then, it seems. People love to bring up examples of David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne, who rightfully are beloved by the fans not only for their performances but also for their decisions to stay. I agree wholeheartedly with these sentiments but these guys are exceptions to the norm. Their legacy for the club is what it is because of all these factors, on and off the pitch. It's rare for players to stay that long at clubs but lucky for us, they did. Don't tell me it's all the same. That's bullshit and I'll die on this hill.

I just heard a story and my body is shaking… A 13-year old boy in Maiduguri was selling sugarcane in a wheelbarrow for his father. Inside the scorching sun, he decided to push his wheelbarrow to a nearby tree for shade & for him to rest for a while. As he pushed his wheelbarrow tired, he mistakenly brushed the front of a parked car & the headlamp fell off. He looked around & couldn’t find the owner. His conscience didn’t let him walk away from the car. So he waited for the owner who happened to be praying in a nearby mosque. The owner finished his prayers & found this 13-year old boy and the damage he has done. He called the police and ordered the boy be put in prison. Recently, this 13-year old boy just got released from prison, after spending 47 years in prison, at the age of 60 years. At this point, I broke down in tears. He was literally moved from one prison to the other all over Nigeria in the course of this 47 years in prison. He only got released because a governor granted him pardon. May Nigeria never happen to you.

Why the voter registration exercise should be extended. As we continue to encourage Nigerians to participate actively in our democracy, I respectfully appeal to INEC to consider extending the voter registration window to the latest practical date that still allows adequate time for the preparation of a credible voters’ register before the 2027 general elections. Every day, more young Nigerians attain the age of 18 and become constitutionally eligible to vote. They are not just our future; they are stakeholders in our present. It would be unfortunate if many of them were denied the opportunity to exercise their civic responsibility simply because the registration process closed long before the elections. Moreover, this position is legally supported by the High Court judgment delivered on 22 November 2022 in Anaja Salmat & 3 Others v. INEC (Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1342/2022). In that decision, the Federal High Court held that voter registration should continue until 90 days before a general election to protect the constitutional voting rights of eligible Nigerians. I appreciate the enormous responsibility placed on INEC to deliver free, fair, and credible elections. I also recognise the need for sufficient time to clean the register and make the necessary logistical preparations. However, our electoral process should, as much as possible, maximise participation rather than limit it. A democracy is strengthened when every eligible citizen has the opportunity to be heard. I therefore urge INEC to adopt a registration timeline that protects the integrity of the process while ensuring that no eligible Nigerian, especially our young people, is unnecessarily disenfranchised. -PO

Wike, you stopped paying for Rivers State students who were studying abroad because, according to you, any course being offered in Nigeria shouldn’t be studied abroad. Left hundreds of children stranded in foreign countries. But here we are today, you’re celebrating your own daughter for studying Law abroad. Nyesom, God will judge you. And He will judge will with anger!

I celebrate and rejoice with my daughter, Jazmyne, who yesterday, earned a Bachelor of Laws (Upper Second-Class Honours) degree from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. I and my darling wife are so elated to have witnessed that moment of joy of parenthood. Jazmyne, thank you for making us proud. I thank my friend and brother, His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the BoT Chairman of our party, the PDP, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, and others who, attended the graduation ceremony, not-minding their busy schedule. You will always receive happiness from your children.

FIRST BANK !!! @FirstBankngr. You are such an inconsiderate and unfair bank. In the last 48 hours, you shut down the Firstbank App under the aegis of maintenance. No prior notice, no emails, no notifications to customers. People lost tons of transactions, unable to make transfers, you paralyzed transactions without a notice. This is a total violation of customer's rights. As one of the Apex banks in Africa, you can do better. It is so sad we don't have great customer protection rights in Nigeria. Same thing with the Aviation industry e.g United Nigeria gets away with too much unprofessionalism and lack of respect for customers.
