The core STRK staking infrastructure has been successfully deployed on Starknet Mainnet. Validator tooling is now operational, and Validators are invited to begin their integration. As a reminder, anyone can become a Validator by meeting the following requirements: holding a minimum of 20,000 STRK tokens and running a full node. Here’s everything you need to get started: docs.starknet.io/staking/enteri… For Delegators, UI and dApps for delegation will be available tomorrow with the official launch. Like Validators, anyone can become a Delegator; a Delegator is a STRK holder who wants to participate in staking without managing the technical infrastructure. Instead of staking directly, the delegator entrusts their tokens to a trusted Validator. Starting tomorrow, becoming a STRK Delegator will be very simple for everyone. Important notes: > Your STRK tokens will be locked during staking, and unlocking them will require a 21-day withdrawal period during which no rewards will be earned. > @StarkWareLtd, the @StarknetFndn, and locked tokens will not participate at this time. On another note, the first batch of STRK tokens for staking (1.3M STRK) has been minted and is being supplied to Starknet L2. This is the normal pre-staking phase validated by Starknet's governance: governance.starknet.io/voting-proposa… As part of this proposal, we’ve implemented a reward system that incentivizes participation in staking, which will play a critical role in the security and decentralization of Starknet in future phases, while minimizing inflation. Initial parameters ensure inflation is kept below 1.6%. Details on inflation and reward rates are available here: x.com/Starknet/statu…, with updated metrics to be published tomorrow. As a network prioritizing security above all, we’re thrilled to introduce staking directly on L2, making Starknet the first to do so. Here is the long-term plan (plan subject to change): 💠 Phase 1 (the current one): > Launch of permissionless staking and stake delegation. > Validators are required to run a full node in preparation for future phases. 💠 Phase 2: > Validators will begin attesting to blocks, signing them when randomly selected. 💠 Phase 3: > Validators will validate and vote on blocks sequenced by the sequencer, with consensus proofs submitted to L1. 💠 Phase 4: > Validators will assume full responsibility for maintaining and securing the network by producing, attesting, and proving blocks. Phase 1 marks the start of Starknet's journey toward becoming a fully PoS network; secure and entirely owned by its community.
