Maybe this will help you understand the difference:
Here's a comparison between the rank of Major and the position of a four-star General (General of the Army or equivalent) in the U.S. military structure:
Rank and Position:
Major:
Rank: This is a field grade officer rank, typically O-4 in the U.S. Army.
Duties: Majors often serve as executive officers to higher-ranking officers or as battalion commanders in smaller units. They are involved in planning and executing missions but are still mid-level officers compared to generals.
Four-Star General (General of the Army):
Rank: This is the highest rank in most military structures, equivalent to O-10.
Duties: Four-star generals command major operations or hold significant administrative positions. In the U.S., they might serve in roles like:
Commanding armies or large geographical commands (e.g., U.S. Africa Command or U.S. Central Command).
Leading branches like the Army Materiel Command or Army Forces Command.
Holding positions like Chief of Staff of the Army, Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, or in the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Hierarchy:
Major is several steps below a four-star general in the officer hierarchy. Here’s a simplified view of the progression:
Second Lieutenant → First Lieutenant → Captain → Major → Lieutenant Colonel → Colonel → Brigadier General → Major General → Lieutenant General → General (Four-Star).
Responsibilities:
Major:
Tactical level leadership, overseeing company or battalion-sized units.
Often involved in direct combat operations, training, and unit administration.
Four-Star General:
Strategic and policy-making level. They deal with:
International military relations, strategic planning, and high-level policy decisions.
Coordination across different branches of the military and sometimes with other nations' forces.
Overseeing large-scale military logistics, readiness, and operations.
Authority:
Major: Has command authority over troops but within a relatively small unit size. Their decisions are more operational and tactical.
Four-Star General: Has significant authority over vast military resources, multiple commands, or entire branches. Their decisions can affect national security and international relations.

I hate this bum ass nigga and anyone who voted for him. Talking about firing teachers when there’s a massive shortage because low test scores, when you also have plans to get rid of the department of education? It makes no sense.
