New Fee Increases Announced (March 27, 2026) IRCC has updated its fee schedule with the following adjustments: 👉 Right of Citizenship Fee Increase (effective March 31, 2026): 
✔️ The Right of Citizenship fee for adult applicants will rise by $3.25 from $119.75 to $123.
 ✔️The main citizenship grant application processing fee remains unchanged at $530. 👉 Permanent Residence Fees Increase (effective April 30, 2026): ✔️ Right of Permanent Residence Fee: +$25 (from $575 to $600) ✔️Provincial Nominee Program (PNP): +$40 (from $950 to $990) ✔️Business programs: +$85 (from $1,810 to $1,895) These changes are made annually under the Service Fees Act. Express Entry Draw #404 - March 17, 2026 #CECDraw Just Happened 4,000 ITAs CRS 507

Outlined in IRCC’s 2026–27 Departmental Plan: plans to reintroduce CRS points in Express Entry for candidates with job offers + Canadian work experience in high-wage occupations, plus consideration for those certified in regulated occupations. No date or implementation yet. These proposed changes would add a new CRS layer for high-wage + experienced candidates with offers, plus potential rewards for regulated profession certifications.

A concerning policy gap in the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot deserves attention. Applicants who have already applied under the “Workers in Canada” stream have their permanent residence applications accepted for processing, but this stream does not include a temporary residence or open work permit component during the PR processing period. Since these PR applications can take several years to process, many caregivers whose work permits expire during this period are falling out of status, or have already fallen out of status, even though their PR applications remain in process. @CitImmCanada and the Minister of Immigration @LenaMetlegeDiab pls revisit and review this issue and consider introducing a temporary residence or open work permit component for applicants who have already applied under the “Workers in Canada” stream, or provide clear guidance on how these applicants can extend or maintain their status while waiting for a decision on their PR application.

Work Permit Expired and SIN Expired - Can You Still Work? If you applied to extend your work permit before it expired, you can continue working under the same conditions, even if your SIN has expired. Important points: • You may keep working while your extension is in process • An expired SIN does not stop work during maintained status • This does not apply to Temporary Resident Permit holders • Renew your SIN once the new work permit is issued • You can show your employer proof of SIN renewal application • Provide the updated SIN to your employer within 3 days Simple rule: Maintained status = work continues under the same conditions.
