@Morggard WOW thats crazy thats the same reason i learned 3d sculpting also yeah, for me instead of realistic its moreso like... "how much can i take away without making this less storybook-esque" it IS fun to see what you can do to simplify your technique, its like a test of skill

@angvlette Ngl it's lowkey an interesting process tho; like I started learning 3D modeling because I just hated spending time on drawing so much lol; I love this game of how do I get the most realistic drawing with putting as least amount of effort in it as possible without using ai

it bothers me how little attention my art gets when i put a lot of effort into it but how much attention it gets when its a single drawing on a white bg, extra points if its just a doodle

@angvlette I remember enjoying floraverse and reading a few chapters years ago, and while I heard there was drama involving its creator, I'd already stopped following it by then. Anything I heard, is now vague and unverified, but based on this post, I guess there was something there there.

@Morggard honestly this makes me sad but i cant help but be like "ah, good on you" because ive recently done the same thing with my own art its painful to be an artist who is motivated by wanting to show people things you think are worth looking at these days

@angvlette That's why I'm planning to stop putting any effort into my art; I'm currently looking for ways to reduce the time spent on drawing as much as possible while still making it look good lol

@ReaperAngel06 i really seriously yearn for some flavor of art gallery site similar to deviantart but i know thats not gonna come for probably a very long time. honestly it kind of hurts that im sure the community could scrounge something up but no one actually wants to step up and try...

@angvlette it really does feel like you either need to draw fandom things and hope it sticks or shit ai art to really just have any attention here like... It feels like the reach for artists has gotten significantly Worse somehow and yet there's very little sites for artists to thrive.

@angvlette Its kind of a shame that character art with high-contrasting and white background is the twitter's "meta" nowadays. Idk why. Maybe people scroll too fast so only art like this can catch the eye
