It’s hard to hold hardline immigration views when you work in tech.. working with some of the world’s brightest people who pay higher rate income tax - it’s hard to imagine the country with its ageing population would be better without their contributions. But the difference between me and libs is that I know it simply isn’t anything like this outside of London / Oxford / Cambridge. Conflating migrants with other migrants is often equally absurd to conflating them with native Brits. We simply have to keep the uneducated 3rd world out and keep numbers manageable to ensure our culture and values survive - it’s such a reasonable position but requires that we discriminate.
