It was most exciting to meet two brothers, both ex-convicts, now reformed, who were sentenced to three years' imprisonment for poaching. They were among the participants at Kinyogoga sub-county. They welcomed us and spoke at the meeting sharing their experiences.

In our continuous effort to save lives, we held two community outreaches in Nakaseke district last month. Our first outreach was in Kinyogoga sub-county, and the second in Ngoma sub-county. Community involvement is crucial for sustainable wildlife conservation. #savewildlife

The Democratic Republic of Congo's proposal to transfer Golden-bellied mangabeys from Appendix II to Appendix I has been unanimously adopted by the Parties to @CITES. The species, found only in the DRC, is one of Africa’s least-known and most threatened monkeys. Congratulate DRC.

The 20th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP20) to @CITES is halfway in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Parties to @CITES are advancing decisions that will shape international trade regulation for fauna and flora. Approximately 3,400 participants have joined so far.

We appreciate the development partners for their support. The use of forensic analysis has greatly supported investigations and prosecutions of wildlife crimes by enhancing the quality of evidence, resulting in positive case outcomes.

Today is World Gorilla Day. On this day, we recognize the interconnectedness nature of the wellbeing of gorillas with the health of our planet and humans. Protect gorillas by supporting conservation efforts, trekking to see gorillas and learning about them. #savegorillas.

Our founder, @GKamasanyu was awarded the National Independence Diamond Jubilee Medal by H.E. The President of the Republic of Uganda on Labour Day today. The medal is awarded to a person in Recognition of their Outstanding Service and Loyalty to the Country.

This Friday 21st March 2024 we held a training at Katwe Divisional Police where we trained over 45 criminal investigations officers on Uganda’s biodiversity, the law protecting it, offenses created by the law and points to prove. Unless officers know, they can’t help.
